Special Town Board Meeting
A Special Town Board Meeting will be held at 4 PM on Monday,
July 9 in the Community Room at Town Hall.The subject of the meeting is pending litigation as a result of the DEC
Order on Consent.
the wingdings are fallin all over themselves about the special TB meeting and about EG going it alone rather than hook up to the County Sewer & water disrict.
They may not realize that "Members of the Agency are appointed by the County Executive, which exercises no oversight responsibility."
Who would you rather have set your sewer rates, the town board or an anonymous entity accountable to ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO ONE?

Real simple: they are IDIOTS ! They bitch and complain because they can't do anything constructive in their lives! Johnson,Jenkins,Mooney,Gilbert,Denfrusio,Cristo - ALL of them are losers in some way ! They have an axe to Grind ! Gilbert and Cristo lost by huge margins- Johnson lost $ in his baseless lawsuit- Jenkins blabs away because he needs to think people read his garbage, Mooney gave up, apparently....Defruscio got beat in Town election....and so goes the saga of these idiots.....
Well written, Timmy. Its only a matter of time and they will ALL self destruct. Its all about power and money, something of which none of them have alot of - they pretend to have both. Even if they did have the money, they don't have the power or the "honor" that one should have in a political status. They have forgotten the Town Board Rules.
Timmy, u crack me up! Pouring salt on an open wound. In 3 1/2 yrs. you ought to run for Supervisor. I have a feeling I know who you are - and you're a barrel of laughs! You've got Deputy Dawg loving the power on a part time basis making lots of money. Rick may have golfed a day a week in the summer in the afternoon, but this guy thinks he can work half days every day! We can't say he's golfing - probably double dipping. Then we've got a secretary who basically only answers the phone, one who used to do payroll but failed at that; BULL from Night Court. Its moronville all the way. Now we've got this sweet lady that now does payroll and is caught in the middle of all of these jerks. When is Supe going to realize people of this town are paying him FULL time wages for a PART time job. He's got a cushy job for seventy grand a year - who wouldn't want that?

Questioning the performance, or lack thereof , of elected officials is guaranteed to all taxpayers. If the man can't handle his position , he should do the honorable thing and resign. Defruscio has intentionally misled both the taxpayers and the Republican candidates to achieve his juvenile delusions of grandeur in that he in visions himself as some type of political power. Power?! Your a novice and one of Cristo's stooges Chris, and it shows. Go back to selling cars - you were somewhat better at that.
Game on no one said he couldn't handle the job I just was pointing out that it is not a cushy job. it is not an easy job and only someone that truly cared about the town would take it on for the pay cut Keith took.
- or - could it be what we all heard just weeks before the election , that Keith thought this was a part-time position and when he learned otherwise, he tried - to back away from the position? Not sure of whether or not that is exactly true , but the bottom line is this, he clearly is NOT in Town Hall full time. It certaintly is not an easy position , especially when you take your marching orders from people the likes of Defruscio,Mulvey and Gilbert. He is making his own bed and his track record thus far is clearly not sparkling. He has no one to blame for that except himself. For all the complaining about McCabe , at least the man returned phone calls and didn't hang around Defruscios car-lot every day for hours on end. People must know that in all reality - Defruscio has no clue what he's doing politically. Chris takes hsi orders from Cristo , and we all know exactly what Cristo is- all about !
There is no need for Langley to be at town hall full time since he appointed "Senator Gilbert as his Deputy Supervisor. The "Senator" is now calling all of the shots for Langley from his state office.
Dwight, as someone I trust as far as your ability to get to the bottom of things...I ask you to look into whether Keith Langley is putting in the appropriate hours as supervisor of our fair town. If, as expected, Keith Langley is only working part-time for $70,000 of taxpayer money while continuing to work for his previous employer - that's not good!
Dwight, I know you are fair minded and will tell the truth on this issue. If Keith Langley is working full time as town supervisor...good for him - but if not, then he should be exposed.
I wish I had confidence in Ray Mooney or Don Johnson to get to the bottom of this but feel it doesn't fit their agenda of bashing the Democrats while looking past any wrongdoing from the other side.
Since when does this site have anything to do with fair??? they consistently publish innuendo with out any back up by people that post anonymously. The attack on Keith only working Part time is a perfect example. this all started with the anonymous assertion " it is my understanding that the new supervisor is on the job part time at best" no proof no examples. it was published on 6/13 by overtaxed and has since taken on a life of it's own. go through the site and see how many baseless assertions there are. Look for key phrases like "it is my understanding" or I heard around town that" or similar lead ins to unsubstantiated attacks and ask yourself Why? you all claim that the other blogs have an agenda I guess we can see that your no different(at least that's what I heard around town)
Please don't misunderstand me. I don't know if Keith Langley is working full time or part time for his pay. However, I do know a lot of people have stated that when they go to town hall, it seems that Keith is rarely there. If the charges are false or true - it should be easy enough to prove. Also, if Keith Langley is still working for his previous employer during hours he's supposed to be at Town Hall there should be records to prove whether he is or isn't. I think this issue should be put to bed one way or the other.
Dwight, from all I've read and heard, is someone who isn't afraid to tell the truth and is willing to dig to get the facts - thus my request for Dwight to look into this. I will trust his findings. If Dwight's not interested in looking into this - his choice - no problem.

This is "fairly" simple to resolve. Mr. Langley could just provide a copy of his work time-sheets. The public is entitled to see them , we pay his salary.
How stupid do you think the residents are? It is my understand that Keith Langley made his own hours like Phil Gause did and is there when he wants to be there. Get with the program; it doesn't take a Genius to figure out what he is doing with his time. Then you've got Bull from Night Court wanting to make his own rules and BULLY people around; he's an idiot. I say send them all including Ms. Grant to Wendy Ward Charm Social. Those positions start with Socialization, and they're lacking it big time. Ray, Don and Dwight look into the Supe's hours, we're paying him full time wages for a part-time position, a cushy one at that.
Someone needs to ask Langley if all the time he spends weekly at DeFruscio's garage is for town business or is Langley just there to discuss political business on town time. Perhaps Langley is avoiding the residents by not being at town hall. Unlike board meetings, residents can ask him questions when he is at town hall.
Keith, what's the reason you are so often missing in action? Yes...it is my business as a taxpayer and a voter!
I would believe that its as simple as allowing Langley to continue on his path of self destruction. He doesn't need any help or advice and if left on his own, will destroy his reputation without any help from anyone else. If the man chooses to continue along his current path - so be it. He alone will answer to the voters.
You're right - just because they delegate responsibilities to other people doesn't mean they're in control of the situation. More than likely they're scrambling looking for a way out of trouble or they simply fail to take responsibility for anything.
If he is taking direction from Defruscio then he is on the wrong track and he's not his own man; rather he's like a little boy being taken to the wood shed. Its only a matter of time that he will realize this - or maybe they're alot alike. Time will tell.
I had an interesting talk with...let's just say...a person "in the know". I was told that Eileen Grant wasn't Keith Langley's choice for his secretary. She was "strongly" recommended by the leadership of the county so Keith hired her-a decision he regrets. As for Mulvey and the woman doing the bookkeeping, Chris DeFruscio pushed Langley to hire them. Good move Keith - real smart!
If anyone reads the Gadfly Blog, a number of comments say people have offered to help the Langley administration only to be told that they have to fall in line with the Langley, DeFruscio, Gilbert plan and agree to follow that plan blindly - no execption. I hear this actually did happen and, to Ray Mooney's credit, he flat out refused to be controlled or stifled.
Interesting insite to the mindset of Langley and crew. I'm sure there is more but that is all I could find out for now.
There's been way too much talk and banter regarding the employment of Grant - much like when her son was hired as well. Bottom line: Keith must decide and answer for whatever is decided. Either she stays and continues to alienate everyone in Town or maybe the man does the right thing and dismisses her. His choice and I'm quite sure Defruscio and Mulvey.Gilbert want her there, continuing to harass and annoy everyone who dares walk down that hallway. Langley alone will answer for her.
You should go check your sources Fairly certain. Some of what has been repored is on the Gadflay blog also. Are you challenging what's being said on the gadfly blog as untrue. I trust my source and will have more soon.
Reporter: Can't believe fairly certain really believes not one word of it is true! How come I know the same "story?" You do know what your talking about Reporter, the other side fails to believe it. That stuff about wanting to get together at the Town Park and talk logically and without yelling and disagreeing "It ain't never gonna happen." Too much has been said and done in the past two to three years to remotely try to win any sort of "talk." Talk is cheap!
For anyone who reads both blogs like me, Joe LaMountain, with Dwight Jenkins, are attempting to bridge a line of communication to open up discussions on how to help move EG forward. While the concept is admirable, the reality of this happening is remote. There is just too much distrust for it to work.
The Gadflys believe in what they are doing and are, for the most part, good people. Their problem is they want to put their ideas and solutions onto elected officials without being willing to see the other point of view. Our officials are elected to represent the entire town and make decisions they feel is the best way to go to resolve the problems. Never will everyone always agree.
We have a political process, if you're not happy with your leadership, you can run yourself or support someone who shares your ideas and help to get that person elected.
exactly what has been said in the past and ignored by the Gadfly crew as they form another blog to ram their point of view down peoples throat ! That group , initiated by Cristo and Taylor have spawned no less that 5 blogs in an attempt to stifle EGTALKS and force their version of how East Greenbush should be governed. Obviously TALKS is a thorn in their sides and many of them- ( Johnson,Mulvey,Mooney and Cristo ) can't stand it that people do not like what they are spewing. Democracy works best when there's opposing points of view. Don Johnson likes to blame TALKS for atrocities comparable to the NAZI's in WWII - but he forgets quickly what TAYLOR and CRISTO wrote and published long before the creation of EGTALKS. Many of the Cristo campers quickly dismiss the collective failings of Cristo,Defruscio and others and focus theor negativity only on people who support EGTALKS and OBrien , Malone,Mangold and McCabe. There has been some shameful conduct on both sides - and it only has a negative impact on EGB as a whole.
Could you slow down and rewrite what you intend to say in the English language in sentences which can be understood? I know you want to communicate, but you really need to unload the stimulants and take up with some teachers who can help you communicate.
What some fail to recognize is that the Supervisor and the Town Board is elected to make the decisions for the entire town. Law provides public input during public hearings and only during public hearings.
As much as Don, Dwight, Ray and GiGi may think or wish to the contrary, the Supervisor and the Town Board do not have to listen to them. Nor do they have to share their decision-making processes with them. Don, Dwight, Ray and GiGi are a very small portion of the townsfolk.
In this democracy, the voters have their say on Election Day. After that, the decisions are in the hands of our duly elected officials.
Taylor and her six or seven alias' names were responsible for more hatred and animosity and the true start of the division of parties. Division more so than had ever been seen before in any East Greenbush election. Her attempts to stir the pot backfired on her and her boyfriend though as the voters saw thru her little smear campaign.
We both know that my reporting is accurate. Thou doth protest a bit too strongly! Here is more for you fairly certain: I have found out that Chris D. and Keith L. have already reached agreement on who they want to run for the board in 2013....Deborah DeMartino and our very own Ed Gilbert. Anyone else expressing an interest to run will be rejected for the Republican line by Chris D., who is the Republican chairman.
Several people have expressed a desire for Ray Mooney to run. Ray has shown no desire to, but even if he decided to run, Chris D. would reject him for the Republican line. Chris D. and Keith L. want to run this town on their own terms.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, the county Republicans will say about this.
Sorry reporter but it is obvious you are mistaken once again. There are two seats up next year and one is Rick Matters who has not indicated to anyone that he is not running. Are we supposed to believe that Chris will not support an incumbent. But lets say for the sake of argument that your right. that is supposed to validate everything else you claim? Bit of a leap don't you think.
There is still one more day to sign petitions for "Senator" Ed Gilbert. Let's get out there and give Deputy Gilbert our support. I know he and Supervisor Langley will appreciate it.
Fairly certain, you can deny, deny, deny, and you still cannot change the facts! Ed Gilbert and Deborah DiMartino have been chosen to run for the board in 2013. To The Reporter, you certainly do have the "inside scoop" and are certainly right on when it comes to Eileen Grant. Supe is learning she's not to be trusted and was put in that position to keep an eye on things including the Supe himself. Whether he does anything about it is his call. He's too nice to let anyone go; well except for Laura and he's paying for that. Truth be known he should bring the old crew back except for Megan; she's a definite fit. He'll learn, if he hasn't already - and its not too late to make amends with Laura and ask Carm to come back. It would be a win-win situation for Keith Langley. You're a smart cookie, Reporter. You need to step forward and reveal your name.
I haven't read about any complaints so there must have been no problems with the town payroll this week. I guess the third time was the charm for Director of Finance Mulvey.
There were once again - many errors....Mulvey couldn't balance a check book let alone handle the finances of the Town. Langley and Defruscio made a mistake but they are to stubborn and arrogant to correct it ! I would hope that the employees who have been screwed three pay periods in a row would consider contacting the NYS Dept. of Labor and filing a complaint. Donnie and Taylor arn't the only ones who can file complaints against the Town and its about time Langley had to answer for his foolish hiring practices- and lets all keep in mid , when Investigators come in, sh*t will roll directly to Defruscio and ultimately Cristo! Mulvey clearly is the WRONG person for that position. Making decisions like Mulvey and Grant are the torpedos that will sink the Repooblican ship in the next election. Defruscio couldn't sneeze without Cristo's permission and it shows!
just think .... if Keith could think on his own, Laura would still be there and there would be no problems with the last three paychecks and retirement deposits !
I don't think Langley cares about the check problems as long his check is ok. He doesn't like having any contact with any of the town employees, except for Mulvey. Maybe the auditors should take a close look at the Langley/Mulvey operation. ***Here is a flash that maybe The Reporter can confirm. The Langley/Mulvey team is becoming such a problem for the republicans that Defruscio has been told to find a way to get Langley to move on so the republicans can run a new candidate for supervisor in 2013, instead of waiting for 2015. Some interesting names are being mentioned. More to follow.

Let's bring Laura back; she and Megan would work so well together. He's a definite L O S E R that had to get a job; where else would he get one if he didn't get lucky and get put in this position. Know-it-all MULVEY. He's never give this job up; its the gravy train for him. He is definitely unable to find a job and keep a job; just ask the Superindent of the last school he was working at!

Why do you allow this man to post here? He clearly can't take any heat at all. He had to start his own blog because everyone else either threw him off or wouldn't print his narrow-minded point of view. I thought this blog was for those of us who generally don't buy into the gadfliers continual line of b-s and political rhetoric. Ray or Don and Dwight are so out in left field that it becomes harder each week to figure out who or what their latest target is - like any of us really care anyway!

Dwight I have to agree with you in regards to Phil Malone. Phil was raised to ba a man and isn't afraid to express his feelings and beliefs. You are the same way in that you are not afraid to see both sides of an issue and express yourself accordingly.
Dwight, you don't look for political gain or to take control like a Mooney or a Johnson. I give more credence to your opinions on many topics because I don't feel you are out for yourself. I relate to the Marine in you....Semper Fidelis!
Mooney and Johnson must be furious that Dwight had the nerve to express a positive sentiment about Phil Malone. If Johnson and Mooney weren't so closed minded they would see that the majority is trying to get things done for the residents of this town. Mooney, Johnson and cohorts want to slant every event in the most negative light that they can. Small wonder that most people don't care for either of them.
Anonymous..July 16...8:05 AM Gadfly...criticizes Phil Malone saying he whined like a 15yr old when his Moms' office got moved. Ray Mooney whined that Phil Malone disrespected him in front of his family. What did Mooney do about it? He certainly didn't man up and confront Phil like a real man would have. Ray, keep hiding behind your computer.
What I've been told, after several phone calls, is as follows: the Republicans in town and at the county level are surprised at how poorly Langley has performed. His performance has been pathetic, but no one has called for DeFruscio to get Langley to resign.
Now for an interesting twist. Republicans in the county and town would like to get rid of DeFruscio as Republican Chairman and have approached some long time Republicans in town to look for some options to replace DeFruscio. I also understand that DeFruscio himself is aware of the movement against him and is trying to build his support.
Not good news if DeFruscio goes...he has been very helpful in getting the Democrats votes in the past.
Keep Defruscio on board for the next 3 and a half years; he's a definite plus in helping the Dems win. You go Keith - you picked a great friend and mentor; he'll get your kicked out sooner than your three and a half term. Gotta hand it to ya; between him and Grant and Mulvey, the Dems are a sure ticket to success. Way to go. Come on Reporter, state who you are, you're one smart cookie!
As for Deborah DiMartino, the people I've talked to have no opinion. She isn't very well known. As for our own Ed Gilbert, well...Democrats are hoping he's on the ticket. My Republican friends feel it would be a disaster, given all of his obvious personality defects.
Daisy Duke, you're one smart cookie. If Supervisor doesn't make a couple of "drastic changes" soon, he's doomed for failure. He's going nowhere with Defruscio as his liaison and with Gilbert losing so many times and Bull from Night Court and Grant beside him - what chances does he have? The former Supervisor had many, many friends (from both parties) and a nice way about him, and he had a group of people surrounding him that were a win-win situation. Good Luck, Keith - you'll need it.
Perhaps Reform will return!!! Keith and Chris didn't understand what the last election was all about. And the connections which have been protecting the machine are retiring. We still have to get a look at the audits for 2010 and 2011 which contain the performance of Majority leader O'Brien and company, not to mention the shenanigans related to the sewer problems.
Don: what are you going to do when those audits don't confirm what you NEED them to ? Your dead in the water and your credibility will be about on par with Jerry Sandusky.
Let's put it this way anony #315....Make a list of the actions of the majority during 2010 and 2011 which have addressed the debt, the workload analysis which UHY recommended and the volumes of other issues which have contributed to the fact that we don't have the 2010 report yet. If things were in order it wouldn't take two years to get a report. Financial management in this Town has been a disaster, notwithstanding the efforts of Mr. Breig. Your buddies just overrode sound policy with the appointment of the new guys at DPW and the creation of a job for the former Finance Director.
Don and Ray just like to blab about what they "think" is wrong. When they are corrected, they distort facts and figures and blab some more. Once again Donnie - your wrong !
Dear Gadfly : why didn't YOU report this ? Doesn't quite fit into your dark day scenario you'd like everyone to fall for = huh ? While its not perfect , its clearly far from finished and PROVES that EG has made efforts to address and correct cited deficiencies , in spite of your continual carrying on too the contrary .
It's only a small part of the story. Missing is the recommended workload analysis as related to hiring. Also missing is the (required by law) report on the payroll savings resulting from spending $500,000 on the retirement incentive. Missing is management results in controlling overtime. The last information we had seemed to demonstrate that it wasn't happening. All of these things relate to Personal Service expenses which include payroll, pension and medical benefits - which are the most expensive elements of any municipal budget. Ain't happening. The Town is adding rather than economizing in a time of recession. And raising taxes in a time of recession.
So if I understand your analysis correctly...the Town should simply chop its workforce to the point that nothing gets done - in this time of recession. And when nothing gets accomplished , no roads plowed, no water breaks fixed , parks not kept clean and mowed , no Police response or a response 25-45 minutes after the call....thats what you would like to have at this time - ALL in the name of saving a very few tax dollars?! You are sitting back collecting your NYS retirement - but the peeople who have been employed by EG for years are not entitled to any of that ? Is that what your saying? The Town is NOT adding - those two DPW hires replaced eight-(8) resignations or retirements.....your math doesn't add up. If you think that NYSDOT or Rensselaer County highway can pick up the slack , or the State Police can handle the volume of calls - wow are you completely out of the loop ! I would imagine that if you were in charge of the way this Town handles it business..most people would simply abandon their homes and go elsewhere. Your dreaming and living in a fantasy with no idea of how a municipality operates on a day to day basis.
You repeated what you read with your little interjections of hatred and criticism towards the Towns officials like they have sat on their ass*s and done nothing or that they have acted foolishly and carelessly. Once again - your WRONG ! People walk away from you , Mooney and Jenkins because of that attitude. Dems will retain control of EGB because of people like YOU ! You read and spin articles to suit your tainted agenda - and it shows every time. You continually say that we over here say nothing of substance. Did you ever think that we just simply don't find fault with everything the Board does? We may disagree - but thats democracy. I get to vote in November- that's where I get my revenge if I so chose !
The Gadfly blog is still talking about McCabe getting $5,000 for gas expenses, yet it is okay for Langley to get $70,000 of the taxpayer money to be at Town Hall part time. Ray and Don will investigate any goings on if it involves the majority of the board, yet is unwilling to look into where Langley goes when the taxpayer is paying him to do a full time job.
If Don and Ray are truly advocates of seeing things are done right, why ignore this important issue?

Based on the number of hours Langley is absent from Town Hall it would make good fiscal sense for the TB to substantially reduce the annual salary of the Supe in the next budget. This would be an effective payroll savings that would also be a benefit to the taxpayers.
Ricky, I guess when you're an elected official you only need to put in a certain number of hours a day and there's not much the residents can do about it. Toni and Linda have always worked FULL time; they have chosen not to play that game of working 8:30 12:30 and leaving for the day. The SUPE on the other hand doesn't give a damn! More than likely he figured if I can get it away, this job can and will be a part time gig for me while I work another job! Cut his salary in half; there's no way he works enough hours to be making 70 grand a year; everybody else is doing the job for him.
McCabe added $10,000 to his own salary and called it expenses and gas money and "extra hours." The Town has a procedure for collecting "expenses" via an audited reimbursement process. He had that available, but didn't use it.
Ricky...it's as likely for Ray and Don to go against or investigate anything Langley does as it would be for Ed Gilbert to do so. They are all in his pocket and will do as they are darned well told! A little bit sad and funny at the same time.
Interesting....my source, who shall remain anonymous, has told me that Chris DeFruscio is quietly looking for someone to replace Ed Gilbert on the ticket for Town Board in 2013. Chris doesn't agree with Langley that Gilbert is a strong candidate, but is keeping it from Langley for now.
Chris, as usual, prefers to work in the shadows while all the time smiling to Langley's face, pretending to have his back.
Chris, you had better watch your back. Interesting how many long time Conservatives, and even Working Family voters have turned to be Republican. Perhaps to have more of a say in the Republican Party and who is Chairman of the party?
That is interesting... I had thought DeFruscio and Langley agreed on everything. We'd sure hate to lose Ed Gilbert as a candidate. Does your source have any idea who Chris DeFruscio has in mind? It seems as if Langley should be watching his back as well. It must be great to be a Republican.
As I hear it, Chris DeFruscio and John Torino have come up with a minimum of 3 potential candidates to replace Gilbert. In a vein of fairness to the potential candidates, who have not committed to running, it would be inappropriate to discuss their names on this blog.
In spite of what the Gadfly blog says about EG Talks, I write on this blog because of the fairness it has always exhibited in the past and continues to exhibit.
I will say the names I've heard are interesting! DeFruscio is looking for nice people to brainwash.
Thank you Sue Mangold for working so hard over the last several months on the Regeneron Site Plan that was unanimously approved by the Town Board last night. I wish I could have been there for the vote, but I had to be out of the area. This project expansion shows everyone that East Greenbush means business. Thanks again Sue and keep up the great work. The taxpayers of East Greenbush really appreciate your efforts.
Gigi and the tribe are all b*tching now at Langley and Matters because they voted for the revised Ethics code. Priceless. Johnson is , as usual , demanding responses from Matters and Langley- good luck with that Don. Your just a normal nobody in Town like the rest of us - get over yourself. I have never said I favored one political party's sole use of nepotism and patronage in hiring and opposed another political party's doing the same thing.
I think nepotism and patronage are 1950's concepts that limit our town's ability to achieve the best for citizens and tax payers.
Nepotism has been around since way before the 1950's BUT its not only in the Town of East Greenbush; its all over. Of course we want whats best for the citizens and taxpayers; but its the name of the game. If you know somebody and you've campaigned for that person and you've put your blood, sweat and tears into it, then you should get a job. Unfortunately everyone doesn't deserve that particular position because they don't have a clue - they had a totally different job in their life, but for various reasons they're fortunate enough to land a political job. So to all of you moaners and winers about patronage, its gone on since FDR and before and its going to go on a long time after we're gone.
Yeah Ray - but you and Don are famous around these parts for speaking out of both sides of your mouths...no one is buying either of your political spin and rhetoric. When its all over at the end of the day - there will NEVER be a perfect politician in your eyes and you'll never stop your incessant complaining about everything that doesn't meet your expectations. This is AMERICA - founded on DEMOCRACY - which means differing of opinions and that sometimes your the dog , sometimes your the hydrant !

However, I do know a lot of people have stated that when they go to town hall, it seems that Keith is rarely there. If the charges are false or true - it should be easy enough to prove. If he is taking direction from Defruscio then he is on the wrong track and he's not his own man; rather he's like a little boy being taken to the wood shed. Its only a matter of time that he will realize this - or maybe they're alot alike. Time will tell.
I had an interesting talk with...let's just say...a person "in the know". I was told that Eileen Grant wasn't Keith Langley's choice for his secretary. She was "strongly" recommended by the leadership of the county so Keith hired her-a decision he regrets. As for Mulvey and the woman doing the bookkeeping, Chris DeFruscio pushed Langley to hire them. Good move Keith - real smart!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone reads the Gadfly Blog, a number of comments say people have offered to help the Langley administration only to be told that they have to fall in line with the Langley, DeFruscio, Gilbert plan and agree to follow that plan blindly - no execption. I hear this actually did happen and, to Ray Mooney's credit, he flat out refused to be controlled or stifled.
Interesting insite to the mindset of Langley and crew. I'm sure there is more but that is all I could find out for now.

For anyone who reads both blogs like me, Joe LaMountain, with Dwight Jenkins, are attempting to bridge a line of communication to open up discussions on how to help move EG forward. While the concept is admirable, the reality of this happening is remote. There is just too much distrust for it to work.

are elected to represent the entire town and make decisions they feel is the best way to go to resolve the problems. Never will everyone always agree.
We have a political process, if you're not happy with your leadership, you can run yourself or support someone who shares your ideas and help to get that person elected.

Democracy works best when there's opposing points of view. Don Johnson likes to blame TALKS for atrocities comparable to the NAZI's in WWII - but he forgets quickly what TAYLOR and CRISTO wrote and published long before the creation of EGTALKS. Many of the Cristo campers quickly dismiss the collective failings of Cristo,Defruscio and others and focus theor negativity only on people who support EGTALKS and OBrien , Malone,Mangold and McCabe. There has been some shameful conduct on both sides - and it only has a negative impact on EGB as a whole.
Could you slow down and rewrite what you intend to say in the English language in sentences which can be understood? I know you want to communicate, but you really need to unload the stimulants and take up with some teachers who can help you communicate.
DeleteWhat some fail to recognize is that the Supervisor and the Town Board is elected to make the decisions for the entire town. Law provides public input during public hearings and only during public hearings.
DeleteAs much as Don, Dwight, Ray and GiGi may think or wish to the contrary, the Supervisor and the Town Board do not have to listen to them. Nor do they have to share their decision-making processes with them. Don, Dwight, Ray and GiGi are a very small portion of the townsfolk.
In this democracy, the voters have their say on Election Day. After that, the decisions are in the hands of our duly elected officials.
Taylor and her six or seven alias' names were responsible for more hatred and animosity and the true start of the division of parties. Division more so than had ever been seen before in any East Greenbush election. Her attempts to stir the pot backfired on her and her boyfriend though as the voters saw thru her little smear campaign.

Anyone else expressing an interest to run will be rejected for the Republican line by Chris D., who is the Republican chairman.
Several people have expressed a desire for Ray Mooney to run. Ray has shown no desire to, but even if he decided to run, Chris D. would reject him for the Republican line. Chris D. and Keith L. want to run this town on their own terms.

Supe is learning she's not to be trusted and was put in that position to keep an eye on things including the Supe himself. Whether he does anything about it is his call. He's too nice to let anyone go; well except for Laura and he's paying for that. Truth be known he should bring the old crew back except for Megan; she's a definite fit. Donnie and Taylor arn't the only ones who can file complaints against the Town and its about time Langley had to answer for his foolish hiring practices- and lets all keep in mid , when Investigators come in, sh*t will roll directly to Defruscio and ultimately Cristo!
Mulvey clearly is the WRONG person for that position. Making decisions like Mulvey and Grant are the torpedos that will sink the Repooblican ship in the next election. Defruscio couldn't sneeze without Cristo's permission and it shows!
Just think, if Laura hadn't been a party to McCabe's monkey business she could still be doing the job. She's been lucky.

Dwight I have to agree with you in regards to Phil Malone. Phil was raised to ba a man and isn't afraid to express his feelings and beliefs. You are the same way in that you are not afraid to see both sides of an issue and express yourself accordingly.

Mooney and Johnson must be furious that Dwight had the nerve to express a positive sentiment about Phil Malone. If Johnson and Mooney weren't so closed minded they would see that the majority is trying to get things done for the residents of this town. ReplyDeleteWhat I've been told, after several phone calls, is as follows: the Republicans in town and at the county level are surprised at how poorly Langley has performed. His performance has been pathetic, but no one has called for DeFruscio to get Langley to resign.
Now for an interesting twist. Republicans in the county and town would like to get rid of DeFruscio as Republican Chairman and have approached some long time Republicans in town to look for some options to replace DeFruscio. I also understand that DeFruscio himself is aware of the movement against him and is trying to build his support.
Not good news if DeFruscio goes...he has been very helpful in getting the Democrats votes in the past.

As for Deborah DiMartino, the people I've talked to have no opinion. She isn't very well known. As for our own Ed Gilbert, well...Democrats are hoping he's on the ticket. My Republican friends feel it would be a disaster, given all of his obvious personality defects.

Perhaps Reform will return!!! Keith and Chris didn't understand what the last election was all about. And the connections which have been protecting the machine are retiring. While its not perfect , its clearly far from finished and PROVES that EG has made efforts to address and correct cited deficiencies , in spite of your continual carrying on too the contrary .
It's only a small part of the story. Missing is the recommended workload analysis as related to hiring. Also missing is the (required by law) report on the payroll savings resulting from spending $500,000 on the retirement incentive. Missing is management results in controlling overtime. The last information we had seemed to demonstrate that it wasn't happening. All of these things relate to Personal Service expenses which include payroll, pension and medical benefits - which are the most expensive elements of any municipal budget. Ain't happening. The Town is adding rather than economizing in a time of recession. And raising taxes in a time of recession.

And when nothing gets accomplished , no roads plowed, no water breaks fixed , parks not kept clean and mowed , no Police response or a response 25-45 minutes after the call....thats what you would like to have at this time - ALL in the name of saving a very few tax dollars?! If you think that NYSDOT or Rensselaer County highway can pick up the slack , or the State Police can handle the volume of calls - wow are you completely out of the loop ! I would imagine that if you were in charge of the way this Town handles it business..most people would simply abandon their homes and go elsewhere. Your dreaming and living in a fantasy with no idea of how a municipality operates on a day to day basis.

The Gadfly blog is still talking about McCabe getting $5,000 for gas expenses, yet it is okay for Langley to get $70,000 of the taxpayer money to be at Town Hall part time. Ray and Don will investigate any goings on if it involves the majority of the board, yet is unwilling to look into where Langley goes when the taxpayer is paying him to do a full time job.

DeleteI guess when you're an elected official you only need to put in a certain number of hours a day and there's not much the residents can do about it. Toni and Linda have always worked FULL time; they have chosen not to play that game of working 8:30 12:30 and leaving for the day. The SUPE on the other hand doesn't give a damn! More than likely he figured if I can get it away, this job can and will be a part time gig for me while I work another job! Cut his salary in half; there's no way he works enough hours to be making 70 grand a year; everybody else is doing the job for him.
McCabe added $10,000 to his own salary and called it expenses and gas money and "extra hours." The Town has a procedure for collecting "expenses" via an audited reimbursement process. He had that available, but didn't use it.
Deletemccabe also did a lot of things after hours for the community, speaking engagements at columbia, etc.

I think nepotism and patronage are 1950's concepts that limit our town's ability to achieve the best for citizens and tax payers.
Nepotism has been around since way before the 1950's BUT its not only in the Town of East Greenbush; its all over. Of course we want whats best for the citizens and taxpayers; but its the name of the game. If you know somebody and you've campaigned for that person and you've put your blood, sweat and tears into it, then you should get a job. Unfortunately everyone doesn't deserve that particular position because they don't have a clue - they had a totally different job in their life, but for various reasons they're fortunate enough to land a political job.
