NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
The Town Board of the Town of East Greenbush has scheduled a special meeting to present the Town Board with the 2016 Tentative Budget.  The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 1st at 4:00pm at the East Greenbush Town Hall.

**Please be advised that this meeting- the Presentation of the Tentative Budget is being held in accordance of NYS's Town Law Section 106 (3).  The Town Clerk formally hands each Town Board member a copy of the 2016 Tentative Budget and they sign an acknowledgement that it was received before October 5th.  There is no presentation of the actual budget.  The 2016 Tentative Budget will be posted to the Town's website for the public to view by noon, October 2nd.  The presentation takes place during a Public Hearing in accordance of NYS Town Law Section 108, this meeting is scheduled for November 5th and the time will be determined at the regular October Town Board Meeting on Wednesday, October 21st at 7pm **

Today is Primary Day ... Polls* are open Noon - 9:00PM.

We are "Write-Ins" on the Independence, Conservative and Green Party ballots. So you need to write our names in the appropriate boxes on those ballot sheets.

Dave, Toni, Andrea and I will appear on the Working Families Ballot so fill in the little circle above our names. Bridget Fritz is a "Write In" on this ballot sheet. So you need to write her name in the appropriate box.

Happy Labor Day

Today is Labor Day, the "unofficial end of Summer". Hopefully we'll have plenty of good weather left, a beautiful Autumn and a mild Winter.

 

The US Department of Labor, states that Labor Day "is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country." http://www.dol.gov/opa/aboutdol/laborday.htm

 

We can still revel in "the social and economic achievements of American workers (and) the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country" and I suggest that we wholehearted do so.

 

We marvel at the accomplishments of labor… the soaring skyscrapers, expansive highways, fabulous cars and trucks, beautiful homes, etc., and appreciate those who built them. And we should remember and celebrate labor's and our own accomplishments.

UPDATE ** September 1, 2015 ** this meeting has been cancelled due to illness ** Notice is hereby given that the East Greenbush Town Board will be convening on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 7:00PM at the East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, New York 12144 for the purpose of holding a Public Information Session to question the Comptroller about the Town's finances.  No resolutions have been presented at this time.
