VALLEE and BOTTILLO

As we progress thru the  election season,  each  side of the  isle is out  there  stumping for their  candidates.

We believe that its important to question these  candidates when they appear on your  doorstep.  Ask them the  hard  questions.  If you have  concerns, that is the  time to voice them.

We laud each of the  candidates  for  the  courage to run for  political office.  We  encourage  spirited debate and  questions.  Some of the comments  of  late clearly  will never  see the  light of  day, however there are  some  enlightening facts and  opinions  being  put  out  there that are  worthy of  publication.

Remember - East Greenbush is a  fabulous  community and  worthy of  dedicated and commited  representation.  We  feel  Cheryl Vallee and  Mike Bottillo  are the  correct and  logical  choices  to fulfill that  challenge.

  4. I totally agree with the sentiment of this thread. Using the Roman Coliseum as a metaphor it's easy to sit up in the crowd shouting out criticisms and condemnations. No one is more guilty of that than me. But to step into the arena requires a different kind of courage, especially when the lions are unleashed and there's nowhere to hide. Politics in East Greenbush is a blood sport and it's not easy to subject yourself, your family and friends to the abuse that is surely going to come your way, whether you deserve it or not. What we owe our candidates is respect for their willingness to participate and the opportunity to explain why they are running and what they hope to achieve if elected. We owe ourselves and our town an informed decision. Good luck to Mike and Cheryl and their opponents and thanks for stepping up.

  5. post from Defruscio on the gadfly:

"Tell us, Bill, do you hold the law is contempt so that you felt it was okay to sell cars without the proper licensing?

Tell us, Bill, why did it take you so long to finally get a building permit for the work on your shop?

Tell us, Bill, why the work never got completed and your shop looks so nasty and why you continue to do work on it long after the building permit expired?

Tell us, Bill, does your spouse really live in Saratoga County? That's where you claim your STAR exemption. Tell us, Bill, just how big a lie is to say that your spouse is living with Phil and meeting the town's job residency requirements?

Tell us, Bill, by what logic or strength of character do you come to the conclusion that you, of all people, can say anything to Rick Matters about anything? You, and your family, are among the leading hypocrits, liars, cheats and reasons behind the decline of our town."

    This is easy to answer.
#1: selling cars without the proper licensing is your version- what about RED GUYNUP , who has been for years littering every available space in EGB with his used cars ?? Huh ?!? Cat got your tongue?
#2:building permit is there and valid - and has been there - huh? What planet are you on ?
#3: Bill took over the vacant "Monkey" debacle that Rick Matters brought in. The building was vacant - @ least Bill put a viable business in there and pays the taxes each and every year ! You really are reaching here !
#4:for at least the 5th time - the Malones own property n Saratoga - that currently is the residence of a family member. Bill and Joan live in East Greenbush and have done so for the past 40 + years. They would be foolish to not claim the STAR exemption on their propperty in Saratoga. It is not illegal to own property outside of East Greenbush
#5:lets talk about liars, and hypocrits- - Rick Matters v. William Estes-
    - Ercole and the Martha letter
    - Johnson v. EGB
    - Cristo and his "ignorance" of an asbestos laden building in Troy
    - former candidate Cherubino and his "indescretions" with tax payer monies while employed by the Tax Dept.
*** Ifyour trying to make a point - make it fairly- your ridiculously out of your league with your attempt to embarass Bill Malone. Did you think for one moment that no one would answer your "stretches of facts" ? Your out in left field. Defruscio,Cristo, Matters and Johnson are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to being politically in correct ! That group has decimated the Republican party to the point that no one of any credibility wants their names associated with Defruscio. They are running in droves away from the Republican party - you know it and your desparate.

    1. With regard to your #4 item, STAR Exemptions must be for a person's Primary Residence. If they are living in EG and not at their Saratoga property, then they should not be claiming any exemption with regard to the Saratoga property. So it would certainly be foolish to claim such an exemption. Let's hope that no such thing is occurring. This link presents the STAR Eligibility qualifications:

  6. Would anyone know why the East Greenbush Republican Committee, Chaired by Chris DeFruscio with Sean Mulvey as Treasurer, has willfully violated the Election Law by refusing to file current financial disclosure statements? Maybe an inquiry to the NYS Board of Elections is in order.
Kudos to the East Greenbush Democratic Committee for filing its statements in a timely fashion.

  7. EGDEMANDS was Chris Defruscio and Sean Mulvey. They used it to slander and harass anyone they thought was supportive of the Democrats in East Greenbush. It finally went away when all the facts about Randy Cherubino came to light and Rich Crist apparently ordered Defruscio to remain quiet.
Don Johnson likes to tell people that TALKS wrote some stuff years ago that he thought was out of line. OK - why then isn't Don up on his soapbox screaming to the rafters about the nasty, criminal acts that Defruscio and his family were caught doing?? Don ??

This election season has been particularly dirty thanks directly to Chris Defruscio. People simply need to dis-allow him any say in the day to day operations of our town - thats right - OUR TOWN!
You may not like Phil Malone - OK , but he is not even in the same room as Defruscio when it comes to illegal, criminal, nasty acts.

Bottillo and Vallee are NOT attached to anything illegal.
I can't say the same about Matters and Dimartino.
Wake up people, if Defruscio has any say after November - this own will be bankrupt in less than a year - guaranteed !

@10:15, 1:47 above: This is in response to your request for assistance in locating things that are sleazy and written by Chris DeFruscio during this campaign year. I would like to direct your attention to the East Greenbush Demands Blog, a blog written and mastered by Chris DeFruscio. You will see that he attacked (or posted attacks) upon residents of our town over and over again. Regardless of the pretense asserted on the blog, Chris bragged about what he wrote to me and to many others. So, to be clear, Chris has, by his own testimony, bashed many people this year and he has done so with a very troubling pride.
BTW as you read, you will notice that Chris has a "unique" writing style. With that knowledge, you will be able to pick out his posts here."

  10. East Greenbush deserves better than Deb Daoust Dimartino. She has a clearly storied past. She is NOT that popular with her co-workers. She is trying to hide from her brother in-laws indiscretions.
MaryAnn Matters- had to know what Rick was up too. No way can we trust her.
This town must elect two people without the baggage that Dimartino and Matters are carrying. Bottillo and Valle are the clear choice to lead this town away from Langley and the misfits.
In two years - we need to send Langley back to Rifenberg where he belongs.

  12. Anonymous 11:19am on 10/16. You CLEARLY have no idea what you are talking about regarding Deb DiMartino and her popularity. Deb is very well respected by her co-workers. I have spoken to many of them myself over the years as my daughters both attended Red Mill school. Deb has nothing to hide from at all. This election is about her and her alone so please keep your opinions about her family to yourself. Did you happen to see the results of the primary? Deb won hands down so before making false accusations, please look at the facts. I will also sign my name to this post because I am not a coward and have no problem voicing my support for a candidate that I know will try and do the right thing in this town. I will welcome a change as there has not been one in years. I have supported the current regime over the years and the only thing I see is the same old ,same old. Time for something new people. - Lynn Hyde

  13. 11:54 - opinions vary . You clearly have not spoken to any of them recently ! The primary results were nothing that wasn't expected. When she has her name there and the others have to "write in"...that makes it clearly tilted in favor of the ones who won. She didn't win the lines that she wasn't named in- touche" !
She will have NO voice if elected. She is a puppet for Defruscio and Langley and everybody knows it . On the contrary, my family supported the Re[publican ticket in this town for years - right up until Mike Cristo dirtied the water. I have no issue voting Democrat because despite the protests of Defruscio and his crowd, they are the better choice this November.

The democratic party would like to thak you for the little show you put on at the town board meeting. The little display by our Dep Supervisor, attacking Ginny like that, just goes to show what you and your cohorts, including Sup Langley, are all about. Thanks for getting us some more votes Ed! And by the way, using the twisted logic you tried to use, Rick Matters shouldn't be able to vote for the rest his term, since he won't be there next year, even though he wants to be, but hasbeen forbidden by his employer. nice Job! Oh yeah, Lynn.....keep up the good work, with you backing DiMartino, it can only help Bottillo and Vallee.

    1. Dear 3:25 PM,
Rick Matters wasn't just forbidden by his employer from running for office. Rick Matters is PROHIBITED from running for ANY political office by order of a Senior Federal Judge. At the Federal level, even certain convicted felons are allowed to run for political office.
Senior Federal Judge Thomas McAvoy determined Mr. Matters' ethical lapses to be so egregious, they warranted more severe sanctions than those imposed on convicted felons.

It's going to feel like the house is burning down if Ericole and his candidates get elected. It's time everyone gets busy to make sure that it doesn't happen.,

    1. The Defruscio plan for 2014-2015:
First - rape and pillage the Town into despair beyond your wildest dreams.
Second - Bring Red back - give all his supporters jobs and free gas cards on the Towns dime.
Third - put Mulvey @ Town Hall, Tirino @ DPW and Cristo as advisor/liason to the Town Supervisor.
Chris will run this town so far into debt that Detroit will look like Aruba compared to East Greenbush.
Go ahead, all you nay~sayers - vote for Dimartoni and Material - give Ercole the juice he needs to squander your tax dollars. Its a done deal and the incompetent fool Defruscio is licking his chops waiting for you to vote his people in so he can be the dictator he dreams of .

    2. Wonder if GOP Chairman, Chris DeFruscio and GOP Treasurer, Sean Mulvey are reading the papers about what is going on with the FBI investigations regarding fraudulent campaign committee filings in Saratoga County? Might that explain why they have refused to file their required updated financial disclosure forms for the East Greenbush Republican Committee with the New York State Board of Elections?

You may hate Malone, you may hate Mangold. At least they aren't running all over EGB making threats against people they perceive as enemies.

    3. Gadfly is flappin' his pie hole about the budget ...

He mentions Fiscal Advisor's report twice - called for tax increases?

Have he looked at the Tentative or Prelim Budget at all?

The Tentative (Supervisor) Budget has a 5.2% Sales Tax increase? What does County Exec. Kathy Jimino say about Sales Tax?

“Therefore, we cannot budget to spend what we realistically cannot collect and so the projected increase in sales tax collections for 2014 is only ¾% over the 2013 budget. This reflects the fact that the economy remains soft and consumers’ spending is increasing but at a very slow pace. Regrettably, this puts more tax burden on our property owners.”

Matters and DiMartino are calling for accurate revenue forecasts – why isn’t the Supervisor?

      Why isn't he?

      He should know better!!

    5. Dear Zap,
You are right on target. This certainly explains why Supervisor Langley didn't say a word about his Budget at last Wednesday's Town Board meeting.
      1. Either Langley knew his own Budget was unbalanced or,
      2. Langley had(has) no idea what his or the Board approved Budget contains.
DiMartino and Matters are saying they "will work with Supervisor Langley."
How do you "work with" a person who is unwilling to speak up for what (if anything) he stands for??

    6. Well, I would hope that at this juncture , everyone realizes that Matters and Dimartino are nothing but faces. They will have no voice if elected. They will be given their orders and expected to do exactly what Rich Crist wants.
Defruscio , for his part, has made several announcements about how he thinks the Town should proceed.
Chris wants to cut DPW by 4-7 employees minimum.
He wants to eliminate the Police/Fire/Ems dispatchers completely, and cut Police Officers by 5-8 effectively eliminating the overnight work shift. -** btw chris: you can't pick and choose who you terminate...Union rules/civil service law prevails**
Chris thinks that by cutting all these services, he will be the champion of East Greenbush. At least until someone dies or there's a major emergency and no one is there to respond, then he'll look the fool he actually is !
Chris is a USED CAR SALESMAN - not a politician , nor a supervisor , nor an actual economic planner.
People will be screaming everyday if they allow the incompetence of a Langley,Defruscio Town Board thru the door.
This town can't afford the nepotism and patronage that is guaranteed to occur. PCS and Anthony Corellis will get all the work, eliminating competitive bidding and the foolish hirings under Defruscio will be mind boggling.
I hope your all ready for John Tirino to be the next DPW commissioner! Let the thievery begin !

  25. This is for Jack and Dwight: if your so absolutely sure that Dimartino and Matters are independent of Defruscio and his foolish/childish antics , what exactly are you prepared to do when Defruscio and his cohorts pillage the daylights out of the Town coffers?
Defruscio has made several public statements saying that he's going to cut emergency services regardless of the impact. Are you - either of you , prepared to defend that statement.
I'm not! Considering that as of the past few years - its the Defruscio family that has commited some of the most heinous crimes and stolen thousands of dollars from the taxpayers. Can you defend that?
Politics is what it is- but his persona does not lend itself to being trustworthy nor capable of possessing any abilities to make intelligent choices on behalf of the Town.
We all know Langley doesn't sneeze without Defruscio - so exactly how do any of us expect trustworthiness and confidence from Defruscios hand-picked candidates?
I know its apparently not fair to saddle Deb Dimartino with her husbands past indescretions , but then again why does everyone seem to want to slam Mike Bottillo because he married into the in-law family of the Harts? Ya know - one good turn deserves another and with the Defruscio family history - there's ALOT of mud to sling, but then again that accomplishes nothing.
So, in the nicest possible way , I and several others, want to know how you possibly can think of or justify voting for Matter or Dimartino knowing full well that Defruscio is literally licking his chops waiting to pillage the Town workforce and other entities?
It seems like the logical choice would be Valle and Bottillo.

To the nasty person on Talks that questioned Dwight & Jack regarding Matters & DiMartino because DeFruscio is the Repub Chairman-----Shame on you!!!! The DeFruscio family is NOT the topic and is NOT a voting issue! Everyone has things in their closet they are not proud of and some of us have the decency to leave those things alone because they are not the Town's issues. Nobody discussed Ginny's 2 big skeletons.
The Botillo issue is very real. If he wins and serves on the Town Board, Sue Mangold and he BOTH will have to abstain on votes pertaining to the Hart family and/or businesses they are associated with.
Talks wants to hammer individuals' personal lives than maybe they should look into the mirror because there is no "fairest of them all" over there. Stick to Town issues and taxpayer issues."

Funny- Chris doesn't seem to mind running all over EGB threatening peoples job, but we are not allowed to question his motive? Really ?

There's a reason I don't trust Defruscio. This Town will be in a real mess if he's allowed to have any say in the day to day operations of this town. He's immature and grossly irresponsible. I don't trust him on ANY level, and neither should any of you. If he's nice to you, beware- he wants something !
You can only hope that he is further controlled by County Republicans because without that level of control, he will ruin East Greenbush in two years.
This election isn't about Deb Dimartino nor Maryann Matters. You people better wake up to that fact There is NO ISSUE to be discussed- Defruscio wants control- he's power hungry and he's got an AXE to grind. Maybe we'd all better re-think his infamous Martha Andiego" stunt a little bit harder.
He was so desperate to get his best friend Corrine Sheldon elected, he formulated that little crime. He was never held accountable. That was a mistake !
Any of you that went to any of those Town Board meetings must clearly remember his extremely immature cat calls from the back row. How he bullied people out in the lobby and in front of Town Hall- of course you all remember those stunts !
