  4. Defruscio was involved in handing in absentee votes - which basically means the entire primary is a FRAUD ! \Times Union reports Defruscio and Rich Crist mishandled absentee ballots - go figure. Defruscio is a crook !
People/voters better wake up ! Its not what you think - you'd better open your eyes - Defruscio is crooked and its all starting to show !

  5. Sure would be interesting to find out how many (if any) of those "absentee" voters actually gave permission to Chris Defruscio to "handle" their ballots.
This has the potential of becoming a major election fraud case, which if substantiated, could result in some severe penalties for Mr. Defruscio.

  6. This entire election season is nothing but a very large hoax being perpetrated on the voters by the faux Republican party in East Greenbush.
Real Republicans will walk away from this election in droves due to the predictable tom-foolery of the Republican chairman.

  7. "Defruscio said the absentee ballots were properly obtained. He denied any wrongdoing."

**** He also denied writing and hand carrying the Martha Letter ! ***
    Where there's smoke - there's fire.

Sadly - this election isn't about Bottillo,Vallee,Matters or Dimartino.
It's unfortunately becoming the Chris Defruscio circus !

  8. Chris is trying awful hard to focus attention on Phil and deflect all the negative that is coming out against himself.
This election isn't about Malone. There is apparently voter absentee ballot fraud being perpetrated by County Republicans and Town Republican Chairman Chris Defruscio - as reported by the Times Union. That is the continuing story and sadly we have yet to hear anything of substance from Dimartino,Matters, Vallee or Bottillo due to Defruscio constantly hogging the spotlight !
Sadly - the Board candidates are being pushed aside by the political foolish behavior of the very immature Republican Chairman who still thinks this is a game.

Also, it should be noted that the Gadfly is the biggest supporter of the actions of Defruscio. Don must think this is funny. Prove me wrong Mr. Johnson !

    1. I think you must be smoking something Anonymous, if you think you can make an assertion that I'm the "biggest supporter of the actions of Defruscio." Go talk to Chris or Keith. They'll set you straight. The fact is that my instinct is that both Parties may have their DNA in this one.

Regarding the candidates, at least we've seen something on "Policy" from the Reps. Nothing from the Dems.

    2. I tend to doubt your sincerity since the bulk of your posts support the Republicans version of anything.
You obviously realize that Dimartino and Maryann Matters are nothing but a set of pawns in the game Defruscio is playing. They will have no voice nor an opinion without speaking to him directly. That sir ,spells disaster for East Greenbush !

I am also aware, from the way OSC handled the scope of the recent audit, that oversight and review can be "fixed." So investigations themselves can turn into highly politicized activities.

They are in politics for personal gain and clearly NOT for the benefit of Town residents.
You can slander Malone all day but he really can't hold a flame to the shenanigans pulled by Defruscio and company.

  12. Lets make this clear for all the hopeful gagflies:

Dimartino and Matters are going to RAISE TAXES . along with Langley. he is not hiding the fact that he is going to RAISE TAXES and Matters and Dimatino will do exactly what they are told to do- RAISE TAXES !

My God people, are you all that incoherent ?? Matters and Dimartino are nothing but pawns in the game being orchestrated by Rich Crist and E.Chris Defruscio !

Dimartino and Defruscio are licking their chops relishing the thought of putting their family members and close friends on the Town payroll. Your a fool if you think differently.
Lets just play the game fairly and stop the rhetorical b-s. The Republican chairman will spend and hire beyond your wildest dreams. Rich Crist has warned him to shut up. How sad is that ?
Defruscio can't be trusted by County Republicans.
Matters and Dimartino will be nothing but pawns in the game if elected. People will scream and hollar but it'll be too late.

      - to define the town's budgeting and purchasing procedures as "antiquated" - are they experienced in budgeting and purchasing??

      - to "provide accurate revenue projections" - are they experienced in forecasting?

OR are they merely puppets being controlled by defruscion/langley or more likely RICK MATTERS?

They will do exactly what they are told to do- raise your taxes because thats all Langley can think about. Its easier for him to jack your taxes thru the roof and then he doesn't have to worry about balancing his budget. Anyone who has been around municiple budgets will tell you the easiest way to create and manage a budget is to have excess money to deal with/ Thats exactly what Langley has in store for all of us !

  17. Simple question:
Will DiMartino and Matters pledge to vote AGAINST another Keith Langley proposed tax increase? I'm sure East Greenbush tax payers would appreciate reading their answer in the Advertiser.

Mulvey is licking his chops because no one else will hire his arrogant, ignorant carcass. Welcome to East Greenbush politics at its worst people!

This town is full of appointed people and always will be, but two which are the most important should be filled with experienced people are the comptroller and the assessor those two people will make or break this place and already have as well as the past administrations. Get a grip most people got there jobs because of knowing someone. But important jobs should have people that that know there job. This town is in real trouble and it is no different than all of the homeowners see every day.

  21. Valle and Bottillo offer the best chance for residents to maintain services and no tax hike. Langley can't get a tax hike - or fee/rate hike off his mind. Defruscio wants nothing more than free gasoline for the family again, and last but not least - Mulvey needs a job !
Bottillo and Vallee for a better East Greenbush without the juvenile stunts of Defruscio !

  22. There is just no excuse for the Republicans attempt to dismiss the antics and mischief of their people.
Estes vs. Richard K. Matters Jr. is the reason he isn't running for a county seat. Some legacy his wife is leaning on huh ?
The chairmans feeble attempt to maliciously and falsely characterize Toni Murphy with his ridiculous Martha Andiego letter. He can and should thank god that Mrs. Murphy never pursued legal ramifications. As of this date, Chris has yet to apologize. He thinks its funny. Some chairman.
The ballot carrying scandal has yet to be played out. There was already a change in Troy elections because of Republican illegal interference and it was openly noted that there was "huge questios" regarding some of the "excuses" people wrote on their absentee ballots. I so look forward to the examination of the ballots Chris carried. This should be fun !

  23. Jack Conway now thinks its better to change the make up of the Town Board.
***Caution Jack- be careful what you wish for. This election has NOTHING what so ever to do with Deb Dimartino nor Maryann Matters. They are nothing but figureheads and poster children for the revenge of Defruscio. Chris has a huge axe to grind and he makes no bones about it- what he's going to do.
This November the people in East Greenbush will either chose stability offered by Bottillo and Vallee , or utter chaos if Matters and Dimartino are elected.
Langley has proven beyond doubt that he answers to Defruscio , and we've all seen what that accomplishes - NOTHING!
Tax and fee hikes are guaranteed if Republicans control the board and services are sure to be cut. Where will your outrage be then Jack ?
Be careful what you preach and wish for Jack Conway .

  24. Be Careful: I think you misread my post. I was trying to describe what I've gleaned from comments made on the two blogs. I haven't made up my mind yet because I don't think the campaign has really even begun. I'm going to listen carefully and vote for the people with the best ideas. But, unlike you, I'm not going to vote for someone just because they belong to a particular party. The make-up of the town board will change because Ginny O'Brien and Rick Matters are leaving. Regardless of your feelings about either one of them, we are losing the two most experienced members of the board. The board that takes its seats in January will be more inexperienced than usual. And since this is a crucial time in our town's history this election is extremely important. What I wish for is the right combination to solve our problems.

You jump to a lot of conclusions in your post and most of them are based on what you perceive to be the personalities of the people involved. You seem to know all you need to know but I don't. In my post on the Gadfly I was complimentary to both parties and also critical of both. Your partisan blinders only let you see what I write when I'm critical of your crowd. This town is in really bad shape so when you say we should 'choose stability' I read that to mean you want more of the same things that got us in trouble in the first place. You say Matters and DiMartino are dupes of DeFruscio, they say Bottillo and Vallee are dupes of Phil Malone. I don't believe either one of you. Things are never that simple so let's listen to what they all have to say and maybe there will be some surprises. But if we're not going to talk about issues during a campaign then when will that conversation happen? And if we don't have a public conversation everything will happen in the back room behind closed doors and that, more than anything, is at the root of our town's problems. I'm just trying to keep the conversation going.

  27. So , the dynamic duo has decided to print more propaganda.
They dare to make a veiled threat against the Hart family yet again.
Jealousy and envy run deep on the Republican ticket.
Just an fyi ; your jaded assertion that the ethics law should prohibit the awarding of contracts to "others", maybe you ought to tell Langley to stop awarding contracts to PCS where his pal Tirino works ! That would be a great starting point !

    ReplyDelete
  28. Isn't Tirino the guy who stood up at Town Board and identified himself as Meaghan Hart's uncle? During his comments he said that Meaghan should get her job because the Town owed him and it was time for Tirino to "get his". So here is the thread - Tirino pushes for her appointment. Tirino is the Supervisor's friend, and Hart is Tirino's relative who announces that he is owed favors. Hart serves first as the Supervisor's Bookkeeper, then his Secretary, and now his Finance Director.

It looks like Uncle John Tirino is still owed more favors since he is now being awarded more contracts. Uncle John says he is a partner at PCS. Is it possible that his niece oversees the administration of the PCS contracts in her capacity as Director? Even worse, is she a party to the awarding of contracts? Is her boss, Keith Langley a willing dispenser of the favors or does he who is unashamedly "owed" going to keep raking it in?

    1. Tirino is that guy ! He's also one of the hecklers in the back row with Chris Defruscio and Kip Sheldon last year. Real classy guy ? NOT !!
I'd be willing to bet that Anthony Corellis gets alot of town work now that he allegedly wrote his love letter in the Advertiser and has a big sign up front of his property. No doubt he never wrote that article, but Chris can't go dow the Martha Andiego road again....next time spells jail and a hefty lawsuit for sure !

  29. This person should get an EMMY for this response, which is right on the $ !!:

Jack Conway (9.27.13 @ 12:33 AM, 9:26 AM, 4:58 PM & 11:33PM) makes many good points as usual, but most fall on deaf ears or blind eyes. However, Jim Breig had two relatives working for the town. Mary Breig was appointed Sr. Court Clerk when he was appointed Comptroller in 2010.

As for some of the rest of the comments …

9.27.13 @ 8:08 AM & 8:12 AM - I think the org meeting appointments will prove you wrong … furthermore, Cristo, Danaher and Matters made some appointments after the org meetings. I think the only jobs cut under Cristo, Danaher and Matters were the Town Attorney and Secretary who were replaced by Craig M. Crist’s firm (related to Rich Crist?). And can anyone forget Langley’s Sean Mulvey and Eileen Grant?

9.27.13 @ 6:09 AM, 8:27 PM & 8:36 PM - I believe Councilperson O’Brien can stay on the Town Board as long as she’s a resident of the Town … doesn’t have to be the residence she lived in when elected.

9.27.13 @ 6:42 AM, 5:55 PM, 8:15 PM - Nothing prohibits two family members from being on the Town Board. Simple solution … elect Sue Mangold to the County Legislature.

9.27.13 @ at 5:29 PM & 8:22 AM - Matters may vote NAY on tax increases but hasn’t met a fee increase he didn’t like.

9.27.13 @ 5:52 PM – Jack Conway’s neither rambling nor condoning conflicts of interest

Must suck to wake up everyday and have to openly realize that your in bed with the most corrupt political leader this town has ever seen. Defruscio better have good lawyers - he's a heading to court very soon !
    >Chris; don't ask Don for legal advice- he's a proven loser who has been openly admonished by Supreme Court magistrates for basically taking liberties-( no surprise there) and making up instances to suit his personal agenda.
Don't go to Matters either - he was too ignorant to realize he was violating the law. Langley is busy defending his civil rights suit and it looks like your leader Rich Crist is a headed to court again as well ! Wow ! And we are to believe anything that comes out of Republican land? I think not !

  33. Instead of bragging how many page views you have Don , how about you call the criminals on the Republican side on the carpet ?

  34. Dons too busy telling people that he hates the Democrats and that he won't post anything that resembles a democrat and so on and so forth ! What a total waste of brain matter.
Don supports Chris Defruscio and the Rich Crist machine and he proves it just about every week. He's pitiful Don and miserable.
Don wants Republicans for no other reason than to punish the Democrats for his failed lawsuit. He's still stinging from that admonishment he got and basically was told he was a LIAR and made stuff up to embellish on his non existent lawsuit. When you have to go to those lengths because you hate your neighbor - wow that shows what a real loser you totally are.
Its election season folks and the fruitfly is spewing his bullsh*t mellow-drama in hopes of uprighting the democrat machine.

  37. There is no justifiable reason for anyone to think that anything will change if the Republicans gain any momentum. Chris Defruscio and Co. will run the Town further into debt and will ruin any chance for taxes to stabilize.
Langley had little or nothing to do with the 2014 budget and left to his own devices, we'd all be looking at a pretty decent tax and fee hike for 2014-2015.
Dimartino is admittedly a Langley deciple and Matters is married to " Mr. Fee-hike"....so really, what does that tell you ?

Vallee -+Bottillo = business experience and vision to continue to lead us thru the tough- NATIONWIDE - STATEWIDE - fiscal downdraft.that
Don and Co. want everyone to believe that EGB is alone in the financial troubles. NOT !! East Greenbush is a minor issue when compared to other municipalities and Counties throughout NY that are in way deeper financial troubles.

People are openly complaining publicly about Defruscio and his "scare tactics" and many people are refusing to follow along the old time Republican path because of Defruscio. Langley simply can't see this , which is why he's so ineffective as a leader.
Nice guy + bad Supervisor = people of EG suffer needlessly.
And then we have the perennial complainer about eberything - Don Johnson. Mr. Reform/Gadfly/disgruntled Democrat/closet Republican. Front page TU picture and channel 13 interview yet people still mostly ignore him and he is forever labeled as the guy who tried to lie to a sitting Supreme Court Judge ! Nice moniker !
Bottom line: November is coming and the town will either continue forward under Bottillo and Valle or sink under Defruscio and Co.

You know who you are; LL, RM, AC, JT, SM, MN and on and on and on.
Then you have Mulvey. Langley hates him and fires him, but now they're in love again.....till Langley hates him again. This is the kind of people you're dealiong with guys!! Be careful what you wish for, ask Mrs. Grant.

If you paid more attention to the zoning/planning board as oppose to complaining about everything you would know that the Mcdonalds building is going to become a medical facility and be expanded. Also, earlier this year the Weathervane site was in front of the zoning board as well. I was told a use restriction needs to be lifted for the site to be developed!!! With that said, perhaps those making accusations should be better informed of the situation before making assumptions!

Its amazing to read the negative feedback on this site from people that invest nothing in the community besides there personal residences. I think the Hart family has done a phenomenal job redeveloping sites such as Selena's. And what about CSC which employs over 500 people in what would be an otherwise abandoned retail building.

And for all the people on this site that have something against the Witbeck family for the current condition of the Mcdonalds building, keep in mind that the taxes were $45k the year it went vacant. Instead of not paying the taxes, they were paid!

    2. Yes, 7:42 and your name calling mud slinging always puts in a much better place.
Last time I checked Gadfly was conducting a mature discussion on the proposed budget.
I will acknowledge that there is ample evidence of wrongdoing on both sides but I will not give up on East Greenbush.
Lets all move forward in a positive way. Who has some thoughts on the budget? Maybe someone would like to advocate for their candidates.

    3. No mudslinging here - just opinion based upon facts - facts that can't be denied and directly impact todays East Greenbush !
Defruscio did in FACT author the vicious "Martha" letter- accompanied by Cristo and Taylor. That is a fact ! Prove otherwise. Cristo lied on television and greatly distorted facts on stipends and how they were derived. He was only looking to distance himself because he knew about them and voted to APPROVE them. The tentative budget is in the hands of the Town Board members for at least two weeks prior to voting on it! He knew, which means Taylor knew, and Defruscio knew. They all participated in the greatest B-S concocted to fraud the voters.
Defruscio is a criminal and he's ignorant. That makes him dangerous.
The Republican candidates will have virtually NO SAY in the day to day operations of the Town - if they are lucky enough to get elected.
8:22 - you simply are looking to bypass the most important point of this upcoming election - the criminality of CHRIS DEFRUSCIO. He's immature and ignorant and could care less about East Greenbush and the residents ! He's Mike Cristos best friend which makes him even less trustworthy ! Cristo was thrown out of politics by Republicans in the County because he is a sh*t magnet- and Defruscio is right on his coat tails.
You want to talk about the budget - Langley had nothing to do with the budget !
Dimartino and Matters are pawns in a much bigger game being played by Defruscio and his little gaggle of punks-( Mulvey,Torinoto name a few ).

Try to discuss politics with Ercole - see what his answers are. This entire election is another Republican scam !

  42. The campaign season might have been a little too long for Deb DiMartino. Looks like the voters are beginning to get wise to what she is all about.

People need to realize that Keith, Deb and Mary Ann need to bring government back to the people without being interrupted by a lot of questions."

Gadfly 6:35 PM Why don't you get with the program. Don't you understand how important this election is. The Town residents need to have the Keith Langley team elected. You said that yourself. Or are you now flipping back to the Dems?. It doesn't help the Keith team to ask all of these questions right now. That's why Keith stopped questions at Board meetings. Keith's strategy is working. Why can't you trust them? Please don't be so cynical."\

OMG - my stomach hurts from laughing so hard.. They also accused the Harts of "buying" this election ! OMFG !!! IDIOTS

BOTTILLO and VALLEE are the only logical choice for Town Board.
We simply cannot afford to give the lackluster Langley and traction. The man clearly has shown he does not care about his job. His continual running to Defruscio for advice shows his ignorance and insecurities.
This Town needs people who have a business backround-(Vallee/Bottillo) and the desire to push forward in these hard times.
Deb and Maryann may very well be nice folks, but their allegiance to Defruscio makes them very unattractive as political candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It's that simple. If you take your orders from DeFruscio, you have problems. Just check the court cases and see how many times ole Chrissie has been sued.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Happened to see Defruscio making a beeline to Langley's office immediately after today's preboard meeting. Wonder what the big rush was all about?

  53. Chris Defruscio has a very storied past. We can only hope the voters see this coming election for what it actually is ; a complete SHAM perpetrated by Defruscio and Rich Crist !
I wholeheartedly agree with Whistling Past the Cemetery - Deb Dimartino and Maryann Matters may very well be nice ladies . Their connection to E. Christopher Defruscio makes them extremely untrustworthy in many peoples view!
And finally, a side note. I can only imagine that its Defruscio or Torino that keeps making the Bottillo / Hart connection.
Well here's one for you to ponder: Is it safe to say then that we should hold Debereh Dimartino accountable for Edward Dimartino ? You know, the ex-Fire Chief from East Greenbush that inappropriately took several thousand dollars from the Fire Dept. coffers? Is that fair ?
Chris,Rich,Sean, John and co.; if you want to trade barbs - we've got ALOT more to say . One good turn deserves another !

    1. Dear Zip:
More information about Republican Chairman Chris DeFruscio please. I just received a political mailer urging me to vote for Deb DiMartino and Mary Ann Matters that had Chris DeFruscio's return address of 52 Werking Road on it. DeFruscio seems heavily invested in seeing that DiMartino and Matters are elected to the Town Board.

Consequently any information about, the "very storied past" of Chris DeFruscio seems to be highly relevant. Do you have any information about Chris DeFruscio that might be important for voters to know about before making a decision about whether or not to vote for his candidates: DiMartino and Matters?
If you do, I would hope you would share it with your fellow blog readers as a public service.
      Thank you.

    2. Well, I'm not ZIP but how can any of us forget his Martha Andiego letter ?
How about all the time and gasoline he stole from the taxpayer while he was supposed to be employed at DPW.
What about the town truck being seen up in Clifton Park at a used car auction, while he was supposed to be on the clock in town?....and there's so much more. Do you know a DPW worker? Ask them...they have ALOT to say !
Chris is the most dirty , under-handed person associated in Town politics. He is an imbecile trying to act like a man. Its not working !

    3. The DPW truck seen in Clifton Park was probably Mike Donohue taking the trash to the transfer station. The long way around.

  54. Well, no, not fair at all. While the Bottilla/Hart connection is a similar family relationship, being releated to the Harts is an advantage that recommends Mr.Bottilla favorably to the voters. The Dimartino/Dimartino connection is an absolute disadvantage to Ms. Dimartino. Between her family and her connection to DeFruscio, one wonders why she would invite the scrutiny of a political campaign.

  55. Exactly 8:45 ! And.....there's many of us who remember clearly the actions of her husband. Does she actually think that none of this would come out?
I'm, not looking to sling any "rumors" , but there's no way that Defruscio is going to keep throwing rocks and not expect some to come flying back !

  56. Here's the latest Defruscio comment:

"Now, more then ever, East Greenbush residence need to get out and vote this year. With continued employment and contract award patronage, tax hikes and now schools closing - we need change! Vote for you Smart Way Forward candidates - DiMartino & Matters!"

    OK- #1 - its "residents"
#2 - FYI - the school is NOT Closing, and it wouldn't have had anything to do with politics anyway !
#3 - patronage contracts- like Anthony Corellis and PCS ??? REALLY ???
#4 - the 2014 budget put in place by OBrien,Mangold and Malone is under the cap... tax hike?? Only if the republicans get in - thenits virtually guaranteed!

Really Chris - your reaching ......

    1. What's PCS???

    2. These contracts were all competitively bid and publicly opened, with many bidders responding. How is that considered patronage?

      Delete
    3. And you were born yesterday - ?! All of a sudden, PCS and Anthiny Correllis- after years of not getting any awards. start getting jobs. Its called - inside information ! Really - wake up ! Patronage is all about making sure certain people get certain things - thats reality and that street goes both ways.

    4. Isn't Anthony Correllis the husband of Supervisor Langley's secretary?.
Isn't PCS partner, John Tirino a relative of Supervisor Langley's Finance Director?
There might very well be at least an appearance of impropriety here.
These cases might be worth referrals to the Ethics Board.

  58. No doubt about it - VALLEE and BOTTILLO .

Dimartino and Matters are simply carrying too much baggage.

Their association with Defruscio alone is enough proof and evidence to not give them a chance to screw with our tax dollars.

  59. IDIOTS over on the gadfly rag complain daily about the Hart family....here's a educated response that I'm surprised Dwight/Don printed:

    "Anonymous-October, 2013 at 7:18 PM

**** but thats what gadflies do - complain about EVERYTHING !!!
They run off half-cocked and blab ~blab~blab.

  60. Dear 10/13 @ 10:32. Political patronage appointments are those appointments assigned to an official, by law, to help that official carry out his duties. In the case of East Greenbush an example of these appointments are the 5 appointments assigned to the Supervisor. Patronage is allowed by law. It can be good. No elected official should be expected to carry out their responsibilities without appropriate staff. Patronage has absolutely nothing to do with bid fixing, as you suggest. Bid fixing is wrong and in some cases may be criminal. If you have knowledge of bid fixing you should bring it to the Ethics Board.
