Happy Labor Day!!!

Today is Labor Day, the "unofficial" end of Summer.  Hopefully we'll have plenty of good weather left, a beautiful Autumn and a mild Winter.

The US Department of Labor, states that Labor Day "constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."

We marvel at the accomplishments and accomplishments of labor … soaring skyscrapers, expansive highways, fabulous cars and trucks, beautiful homes, etc., and appreciate those who built them.

Let's not forget our own local laborers who keep the sewers and water flowing, and the roads repaired and cleared in the winter.

We should remember and celebrate labor's and our own accomplishments.

  1. Gadflies marvel @ nothing. They want all the services a municipality offers but they don't want to pay for any of it !

    DPW , Police , EMS , FIRE - yup, they want it all but you all need to work for free ! Don Johnson says so !

  2. If the Defruscio picked candidates win in November, we're all going to find out what its like to not have any of the above referenced services.

  3. Jack Conway makes a couple of very good points about Langleys and this Russo persons propaganda posts in the Advertiser.
    With all credit to Jack, here's what he said and its right on the money;

    "Keith Langley's piece is a good start but like Scott Russo's post it doesn't contain any real corrective measures and feels a lot like 'give us a majority and we'll think of something.' The supervisor is right that good government is the place to start but he voted FOR some of the things he is now railing against. The full slate of patronage and nepotism appointments made at this year's organizational meeting passed by a vote of 5-0. Russo has a point that the democrats have had a major hand in running this place into the ground but why are we only hearing this tough talk during a campaign? Where's the financial recovery plan that will be needed? What about a hiring freeze? Keith Langley's good government approach may help stop the bleeding and make a small dent in the debt but where's the plan that will ultimately pay off the debt and yield tax relief for the besieged residents of East Greenbush?"

    Tough talk is the understatement of the year. Langley is dreasming if he thinks people aren;t aware of his participation and agreement. The last hiring freeze was implemented by a DEMOCRAT BOARD ! Republicans can only sit back and throw mud - thats all they got.
    Defruscio and his thugs have been at it for the past 30 days or so. All the crap, garbage, bashing posts are no doubt from Chris and his gaggle of fools. Don can blame Talks for whatever, but he'd better watch out- the Defruscio mob are the kings of veiled threats- evidence a plenty !
