Mr. Breig - I watched those divers for a while and it looked very low tech as I saw four guys in water up to their necks pulling weeds but I must say the initial results are encouraging. The lake looks much better already and it's good to know they will be back. But still it seems that in the year 2012 there must be a more effective way to do this. I think the town board said there was another option but it was radically more expensive so this was the way they chose. I hope it works because the lake is important to the morale of the people in Hampton Manor, many of whom are hurting in the current economic climate.

Once all pulling is complete it is recommended that the pond bottom be covered with a barrier type of product.
Where the infestation is greater herbicides are the only proven and effective form of treatment.
Langley's lack of an open government policy make it difficult to impossible to understand how much research into the most effective form of removal was investigated but let's hope for the best.
