  1. While I would normally swallow cyanide before agreeing with anything posted by a fruitfly, I do have to say that the current leadershp @ the Rescue Squad needs to be flushed for incompetence and ignorance. Their current Chief of Operations is a complete failure in the leadership category and is a disgrace to the heritage of the W.F. Bruen Rescue Squad.

  2. Simple solution to this problem - get rid of the Chief , her "hired gun" and dismantle the Board of Directors. Town can and should take over, appoint new board to handle day to day operations. The Supe has the authority to order this , and he should. Time for some accountability.

    1. he's already been terminated from his former position in Clifton Park . Someone needs to look into that- why was he terminated ?

  3. OSC audit recommends change - NONE of which have been implemented. Time for the "Chairman of the Board" to step up or step out ! Too many people know exactly what she's up to and she should realize that she does not have immunity nor is she invisible.

  4. Terrible - just terrible. The W.F. Bruen Rescue Squad was a proud and very much needed service in the Town. It has become a political farce and is run by ignorant and incompetent people with their own personal agenda , none of which is to the benefit of the taxpayers in East Greenbush. I asked and was told that some of the old members were literally thrown out because they started asking questions that the current Chairman of the Board could NOT answer , so she had bogus charges drawn up and dismissed some of the most loyal and caring members without missing a beat. Too bad it has come to this. So many good and proud past members deserve more than this !

  5. The situation with Bruen is one that unites the people who are commenting on this blog and the people who are commenting on the Gadfly blog. That's a very good thing. It really is.

Sue Mangold is the Town Board liason for Bruen. Sue spoke very positively about Bruen at Wednesday's Town Board meeting and the resolution to renew Bruen's contract passed 5 to 0.

Either the Town Board knows things all of us do not in their support of Bruen or the Town Board is ignoring the people who are concerned about Bruen.

Either way the 5 to 0 vote leaves us stuck with Bruen for another year.

It has always been assumed that the people managing this blog are more connected politically to the majority, including Sue Mangold. If that's the case can someone address all these concerns with Ms. Mangold? Or are we all condemmed to blog, like we mostly do, without any purpose or usefullness?

  6. Message to Mike Cristo : who exactly do you think you are? I'm sure one of your stool pigeons will report this to you. You have NO SAY any more, nor will you in the future either. You lost all you connections to this side three years ago. Dry up and blow away with the wind. This once again proves how totally insane you really are. Your power ego doesn't bode well especially now that your basically a worthless pawn in a failing dynasty of politicians.
You should have moved to the Carolinas- no one knows you there !

"Has-been" fits best when thinking of the soon to be "ex" County Legislator. Good Riddance- good bye !

Gadfly is trying to defend him. There is no reasonable, justifiable defense for his actions and statements.
In fairness, there is no way that the gadfly group could possibly know what many of us know about Cristo, so I can sorta understand why they would be willing to defend his schizophrenia-(Common symptoms include auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction.)
As far as Langley, his thought process of believing that Defruscio has any real idea of what he's doing is laughable. Langley has made many mistakes, but his biggest to date: trusting Defruscio !

    3. Can you be specific with regard to the "actions and statements" to which you refer? Right now it's just a fuzzy assertion not capable of being factually tested.

Thats easy : this past election day for starters- apparently the "boy wonder" thought he could go to an voting site that his parents apparently vote at , sign under his fathers name and vote. When the ladies who register the voters brought it to his attention that he was in the wrong place, he threw a total fit , screaming about where his wifes name was, why it wasn't on the voter list, etc...etc..and made a fool of himself publicly-
Many, many witnesses. btw: he hasn't voted there in at least 20 years!
Second: just two weeks ago, the "boy wonder" made several phone calls in a vain attempt to try to influence a vote being held at the Democratic party meeting...problem is that he made a false claim which he knows he can't make happen, and the other fact that he tried so very hard to influence someones vote with a false promise as if he actually had some say ?!?
Those are just two glaring examples of the philanderers mental failings.
1025 - if your looking to argue- go elsewhere. His failings are well witnessed and documented.
FACT: his political career is over. he has been told there is NO SUPPORT for re-election at the County level. His dreams in East Greenbush are OVER as well. Too many people are fully aware of his personal and professional failings. You gadflies can try to defend him - wish you luck, you clearly have an uphill battle.
He brought this all on to himself. He has no one to blame except the person that stares back at him in the mirror each day !

    5. I don't think anybody is trying to defend anybody. It's just fascinating that some of you folks get so apoplectic in your apparent hatred of Mr. Cristo even as you list his failures. If he's a has-been, why are you wasting all the energy??

    6. Once again , he brought this all on himself!

NOPE- Langley appears to have learned enough as to walk away from Cristo- although Langley is still seen regularly with Defruscio - who is Cristos right hand man.
I see the Gadfly crowd has given up on Langley. I can't help but wonder if there will ever exist any politician who will satisfy their thirst for political blood?

    9. Langley hangs with DeFruscio because Chris tells him he won the election because it was a beauty contest. He really hasn't got a clue.

  11. The Towns junk bond status and the debt was mostly reduced prior to the last election. But that FACT doesn't bode well with the Gadfly crowd. They want to take credit when they had NOTHING to do with it.

    1. I thought Keith Langley was responsible for the reduction.

    2. Just a point of clarification . East Greenbush bond rating still remains at junk bond status, and at the beginning of 2012 the towns deficit was close to $2.3 million dollars. Our Supervisor and the Town Board working together have reduced that deficit during the past year and have budgeted continued reductions for the current year.
The key to this progress has been the Supervisor and the board working together in the best interest of the town.

    3. So there is no reason to change the Langley Democratic majority Town Board.

  12. 8:48 state comptroller puts it at about 2.1 mill at end of 2011

TB reduced it more during 2012

so not very "close to $2.3 million dollars."

    1. AND....it should be duly noted that STANDARD and POORS is getting the arse spanked by the Attorney General for somewhere near 5 billion in fines because THEY LIED to enhance their financial holdings.
****DID THEY LIE ABOUT EG FINANCES??*** I posed that question to the fly - he refused to answer.

    2. Dear Game... S&P didn't lie about EG finances. The State Comptroller, Moody's and the State Comptroller again laid out the same consistent analysis. Nice try.

  13. Anyone know whats being done with Ed Dimartino - the now disgraced former Fire Chief from the EGFD who stole ALL that money?
Someone over on the "fly" asked the same question.

  14. I realize there are major differences between the supporters of the two major blogs in our town.

    But please consider this:

Both blogs agreed that Bruen is badly managed and poorly led. Both blogs have also expressed concerns about the fire district chief involved in the alleged theft of some $25,000 that seems to be being covered up.

This level of agreement is, in my view, a very positive development. But, still, all we have done is blog. Imagine the possibilities if we united and put our collective weight to pressuring the town board and the fire district to do the right thing? Those possibilities are, truly, endless.

Bruen's situation and the missing fire district money both point out, by the way, for the need for deep and meaningful audits.

    1. The level of "positive" will be deterred by statements made on both sides. The premature assumption that sides will agree depend on exactly what can be proven , not assumed.
The endless back and forth accomplishes NOTHING. But I see from reading the recent posts on the "fly" , that nothing has really changed.

    2. Read the "fly" today. You won't be so optimistic.
Dons biggest complaint was that supposedly this blog allowes rumors and innuendo. Really..??
