How Embarrassing Mr. Supervisor

Whether or not you like him , local radio show  commentator  Paul Vandenburgh called out  Keith Langley  this week on his morning talk show.

Many think he was correct in doing so !   The Supervisor has a bad habit of not returning calls, and his "no comment"  facade is wearing very thin.

The entire  "Casino" debacle is nothing short of a travesty for East Greenbush voters who are looking for answers to some very simple questions.   Why will you not answer  Mr. Supervisor ?

The next  Town Board meeting is Wednesday the 21st and rumor has it there will be many residents attending to either speak and/or ask questions.      We do hope the Supervisor is prepared.

Regardless of whether your for or against the proposed Casino , there are many questions that require an answer and explanation from our Supervisor.

Keith;  are you listening ?   You were elected to serve the people- remember ?

What are you afraid of Supervisor Langley? Is it just that you aren't smart enough? Or are there issues you want the East Greenbush taxpayers kept in the dark about?

    1. Keith has no idea what he's doing. He confides in Chris Defruscio, and that fact alone is very telling.
Anyone who has lived in East Greenbush for more than a minute knows exactly who Chris Defruscio is and what he's all about. And , none of it is any good !

  2. Let's use the Open Public Privilege portion of the next Town Board meeting to try to get some sensible comment or explanation from Supervisor Langley about this important issue. And, Keith, a lot of us are getting really tired of your "the resolution is the resolution" type statements. Those kind of comments are very disrespectful to your fellow Town Board Members as well as the voters of East Greenbush.

  3. Pete Stenson wrote an excellent article in todays Advertiser.
The fact that I detested Vecchio when he ruined the school board played into my hatred for his little trash article a couple weeks ago.
Good job Pete. Next up: worthless and meaningless rebuttal from MAM.

  4. Embarrassing isn't the word. Incompetent is. I have been around town politics for macny years and have never seen anything like this. I was never a big fan of McCabe, but this clown makes McCabe look like a genius. I was tolid today that the genius running the DPW now, has the town in hot water, to the tune of upwards of 10 improper practice complaints and grievances. These are all costing the town big bucks, with having to pay outside council. It's not something the town atty does, so it goes to the labor attys. Add this to the thousand paid to Mrs. Grant, plus the 15 0r 20k paid out to the teminated employees this January, and you have a pretty big bill. Not to mention, we're paying the duo of Corellis and Fiacco, 44k more than VanWormer was getting. How's that working out for ya? Oh, you didn't know about the payments to the terminated people, you say? Well, when the geniuses at town hall had the people stay until after the organizational meeting, they secured paid vacation days for the workers. A few of the longer tenured people were paid for close to 20 days, which computes to about 5k. It all totals close to 20K, because of another Langley administration screwup. Unbelievable.

  5. No wonder why Langley wants to keep the monthly expenses secret. And he still refuses to provide information about the audits he voted for.

  6. Tune into talk 1300. Let's see if Chicken Langley has the b***s to finally return Paul Vandenburgh's calls. He's certainly no Rensselaer Mayor Dan Dwyer!!

  7. I find it extremely alarming and immature that the Supervisor is playing this "duck and cover " game.
I've known for thirty years how immature and what an idiot that Chris Defruscio is , but the sitting Supervisor carrying on like this ? His actions and inaction's are completely inexcusable !
Time to demand a mid-term election and rid our town of this virus named SWF before its too late !
Has anyone contacted the New York State Office of Court Administration to have Defruscio thrown out of our courtroom yet ? I hear he's quite the joke of a "court attendent" .

  8. They should have given Langley the DPW job that he wanted. (I remember hearing "gotta have something." Right Sean?) You guys had a chance to put the Dems away for a generation, but you put the weakest team in place, and have given them a chance.

  9. Langley, do East Greenbush a favor; either step down NOW or DO NOT RUN in 2015; save yourself the embarrassment of being "THE BIGGEST LOSER!"

  13. Could be her plan 9:46. After all, Mary Ann Matters has been doing nearly all of the talking for the SWF majority at Town Board meetings, while Supervisor Langley just sits there slack-jawed and bewildered.

  14. What is wrong with this town and county? Our roads are terrible...everywhere you drive is nothing but potholes. Do we deserve ANY services for our taxes? Rumor has it that Langley and Corellis want to do the bare minimum in services so that they can artificially lower the deficit. They can then pretend that the deficit is lower because of their great leadership. Hell, anyone can take in our tax dollars, provide minimal services and save money. Only trouble is, after the 2015 election, everything that was neglected will cost more to fix in 2016.

Langley, stop worrying about being reelected, sneaking in a casino, and try doing your job. Give us what we pay for. The County also needs to step up and fix the roads they are responsible for in East Greenbush.

Of course there all going to say YES, and as they did to McCabe, they'll ignore his name and press the encumbant's. You have no friends in politics. Get that, Keith!! Probably not, your not the sharpest person going! Its too bad you left Rifenburg's, although if you left in good standing, your position is more than likely still available. I wouldn't wait - I'd got for it now before your embarrassed to tears to the the BIGGEST LOSER!!

2nd: Jack and others ; Republicans at the County Level are in this thicker and deeper than you realize. Lest you dismiss the amount of influence that Phil Danaher has on Langley...

  20. ZAP -

There's no doubt that county republicans are in the thick of this and I have already called for Phil Danaher to resign as attorney of the planning board due to a conflict of interest on this particular project. But someone needs to explain why Phil Malone and Sue Mangold supported the casino resolution and have yet to announce they will sponsor a motion to rescind it at the May meeting. In the absence of those actions, the EG democrats have nowhere to hide when the fallout comes. The board voted 5-0, that's a simple fact. The "No Casino" crowd is becoming well-funded and well-organized and every conversation includes the conviction that anyone who voted for that resolution needs to go. If Phil and/or Sue have reconsidered their vote they need to publicize it because people who oppose a casino are drawing no distinction between them and the majority on this one. Nor should they since neither one of them fought for the public's right to speak on such a critical issue. I'd like to believe they've come to their senses but so far the silence is deafening.

  21. Jack, were a lot disappointed in you. You're starting to sound like the rest of the clowns, if I have a difference of opinion I have to go, that's not you. Your pals have spread lies and distorted facts for years. The lies and defamation cost a very nice man an election, how's that worked out. The flys have had thier 15minutes of fame. I hope they are trying to hide the many skeletons that might soon be appearing.

  22. Anonymous 10:51: Sorry to disappoint but this isn't a difference of opinion it's a casino. The end of this town as we know it. A deal done in the dead of night with no questions asked. Anyone who supports it loses my vote forever. Not only that, I will actively campaign against anyone who continues to support the surrender of our town without input from the public. I don't care who that makes me sound like. Never cared before and don't care now. The fact that this process is alright with you makes your disappointment pretty easy to bear.

  23. Interesting comment above about the Dept of Public Works. Just this morning I was walking in an upscale neighborhood and noticed 2 East Greenbush Town trucks and a piece of equipment stopped in front of a house. At least 3, maybe 4 guys were hanging shooting the breeze as I walked by. About 15 minutes later I came back and they were still there. Now I'm wondering - what are they still doing there? Not working. I looked at my watch and pointedly looked at them. At that they got in their vehicles and drove off. I noticed that they had been patching the road but the patches were almost dry and there was no smell. Now they could have been on a break, lunch hour or whatever. But here's the thing -- just sitting around like that looks like they are "cooping". It looks bad. I am not complaining to the DPW commish because I know I will just be dismissed or made fun of. What a town. And they think a Casino will solve all of their problems? These guys can't manage their way out of a paper bag. Good Luck.

  27. Apparently , the county exec. has made it perfectly clear that she will have nothing what so ever to do with EG Republicans so long as duhmmy is in charge. When there's no support coming from the County, it won't be too long before Ole Ercole will need to start making up phoney names to defame people again - eh Marta ?

    ReplyDelete
  28. So she got what she wanted from "Ole Ercole" and the Lang in the casino resolution and now is going to let them swing in the breeze? I'm sorry, but the County Exec. and our local County Legislature members, one of whom is the Planning Board Attorney, have some answering to do too.

A deal done in the dead of night with no questions asked. Anyone who supports it loses my vote forever. (per Jack Conway). Jack, I think your a great guy and your right on the money with that quote; but how many deals have gone through this town not only with the previous TB members but also the present. Is it right that the RESIDENTS are not aware of many political happenings; absolutely not - did it happen; yes. The County has been and will always be "hush hush" about many, many goings on. Its time people act on these jerks; but will it change anything - absolutely NOT. Politicians are going to do what they want to do especially if it means money in their pockets and fame; many of them have the "little big man syndrome" and will continue with that attitude until they lose and we get some new minion in their doing the same damn thing! Over and Over and Over Again.

  30. Defruscio wouldn't be chairperson if the County hadn't backed him. That backing has cost us a lot. Defruscio actually found two candidates who are willing to support his failed Supervisor. It is unlikely that any worthy candidate will run while Defruscio is Chair

    1. actually, I thought the same thing...but I learned that Ole Def. pressured EG Committee people into electing him chairman. PLus, after Tom Dejulio and Red dessimated the party, pretty much opened the door for Ercole.

  31. Sick of this Town -

I wish I had a good comeback but you're right on the money. One positive by-product of this casino fiasco is that it's galvanized a lot of people who previously paid no attention to local politics. Town politics has been an incestuous little game with both sides playing it the same way for the same spoils. I dread to think what they could do with a casino windfall because for all the bragging about the revenues the town could receive, what difference would it make if it was handled the way things have been in the past? The only difference would be a deeper public trough with even more insiders feeding at it while the taxpayers of EG continue to foot the bill. We need change in the culture of politics.

    1. Jack and others-

At the risk of sounding like a broken record....I thought that was the back bone of the SWF campaign this past year - to "change the culture of politics!" They said in almost all their mailings that they would make government more responsible, cut spending-(hah!) and transparency was the way to go !
MAM specifically called out the dems on each of those points.

Look at the mess we're ALL in now !
Danaher hiding behind the curtain - Defruscio thinks he's Mario Cuomo and Langley is dreaming of Rifenburgh !

    Dear Talks,
Pete Stenson was written a terrific Letter to the Editor, printed in today's edition of the Advertiser regarding the proposed siting of a casino in East Greenbush. Whether you are for, against, or just not sure about the casino proposal, Pete's letter is very nicely done and is worth a close read.
    All the best,
    Tom

  33. Not for or against the casino....I think Rensselaer would be a better location...close to the railway...bridge and water traffic. People in East Greenbush should stop crying...they got what they asked for when they cast their vote. Victory is not quite so sweet now is it?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rose, you are SO very incorrect. People have the right to expect good government - period. That is true regardless of who was elected.

I "get" your gloating. But Langley is so tragically like the former supervisor it is sad. Neither did a good job.

Accountability, responsiveness, due diligence, transparency, openness, honesty, information, communication. This is all people expect from the supervisor and the entire town board. And not a single one of the five of them "get" it.

  35. Just finished reading MAM's piece in the Advertiser....does she always speak for Deb? Everything she writes included her and Deb. I think Deb - if she is able - should throw some thoughts out there. Also...MAM said to read Langley's new entry in the Advertiser and on the Town website...maybe they are still waiting for her to write it because I didn't see it in either place.

MAM does seem like a very bitter lady; full of hatred for most all of the DEMS, especially Rick McCabe. Does she think Langley is doing a better job? It would interesting to ask her who she would nominate and recommend for the next Supervisor; I'm sure it would be her husband. When their campaigning and come to your door and start knocking the previous Supervisor and Council People, you know right then and there NOT to vote for them. She is a piece of work. As far as Deb, she's a nice girl who will never say a word - just sits there and smiles and knods, looking up to the ceiling! Supe, well he's just there - he doesn't have a clue; he was lucky enough to win - and he's collecting a nice check for doing absolutely nothing except taking orders from the red faced monkey!! So lets vote them out in 15!
