It's all Good !!

Last  evening , in a  historic positive move forward, the  Town Board  placed three new Police Officers  in service and promoted  one of our own.

In a packed room, Sgt. Michael Condo , a  26 year veteran of the  Police Department , was  promoted to Assistant Police Chief.   This  promotion follows  at least 5 years of  discussions on the matter and  after receiving  approval from Rensselaer County Civil Service and the  appropriate  Town Resolution, the new  Assistant  Chief  placed his hand on the bible and  took the  oath of  office!    Right after  that, the  Town Board  welcomed three new  officers,  John Martyn, Christopher Adams, and  Nicholas Peter.

Exciting and  electric  describes the atmosphere in the  room as these officers  were  sworn in.  The  room was  full of  well wishers  and  family and  after it was  all over, many  remained  just outside the  room for a  long time.

After  all the  hoopla  about  overtime, these  appointments  should greatly  curb the overtime and the  much needed middle management position of  Assistant  Chief  will greatly  assist and  ease the  burden  on many legal and professional requirements of the  Police Department.

All of us at East Greenbush Talks  are  extremely  pleased with this most positive move by the  entire board.  It is clearly a  move in the  correct  direction and one  East Greenbush should be  proud  of.    We  wish  all the   best to all four of our  officers  as they progress forward with their  responsibilities and  duties.

  2. The best part was "mr foil" mulvey trying to act like he knows it all and in the end , having to stand up and publicly apologise to the Chief of Police ! Priceless!

  3. Congratulations to Asst. Chief Condo and Officers John Martyn, Christopher Adams, and Nicholas Peter.

May you remain healthy and safe while you protect and serve the residents of East Greenbush. We often forget the sacrifices these brave people and their families make to pursue this line of work. Kudos to all four and thanks to the entire EGPD!!

Don't be too hard on Sean Mulvey - he made an error, admitted doing so and apologized to Chief Lavin. Many people would not have admitted an error; much less apologize for doing so.

Thanks to Ray Mooney (and Freihofer's) for the refreshments!!!

  4. That was a great Town Board meeting last night ! One of the most enthusiastic crowds ever and quite the reception for our new officers! I too join Pete and wish you all well in your future as Police Officers for East Greenbush. To Sean- that took some chutzpah to stand up and apologize- good move though - honorable . Once again - congrats to all four of those officers !

  5. Best wishes to the new town employees. I hope you remember that you are in an honorable profession and that the residents look to you in their time of need. Keep in mind that people react differently in these trying financial times and common sense is not always used in some peoples decision making.

  6. Just read a very nice thread about the CHS Wrestling team over on the Cristo/Taylor blog. I really don't know why they approved a political comment - totally in poor taste as far as I'm concerned. Is there any subject that doesn't require some sort of political reply?
Obviously the comment was approved by the Blog Host so they are personally saying...anything goes! In any case...congratulations to the CHS wrestlers and their coach.

  7. Columbias wrestling Team just won the coveted Virginia Duals - a competition that included top teams from throughout the North East. Coach Servidone has some fantastic talent on his team this year and is to commended for the level of professionalism he has brought to these athletes.
That being said - Taylor and her cronies can't hide their contempt and they're such poor losers to boot!
They can't seem to focus on anything except their hatred for the Town Board. That is unacceptable and is the true Hallmark of Taylor and her followers. Cristo actually attempts to write something not laced with vomit and Taylor screws it up ! Go Figure giggle~giggle~ Boom-Boom!

  8. Spin - spin - spin....guess Ann just can't get her head outa her a**. Spin spin spin - and away she goes with her latest fabrication that Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops were competing for the same property Fed-Ex got - W R O N G !!!
Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop were touted as the Two "anchor stores" in the Temple Farms project. Thats all - they never even submitted any interest in the other plot - NEVER ! Spin-spin-spin...makes her look the damn fool and uninformed loser she is !! Spin-Spin-Spin - loser !

  9. Poor Dwight - can't get his head outa his *ss either ! He thinks that the promotion for Assistant Chief is costing the Town money ! He doesn't even read the foils his moronic friends have compiled. The new Assistant chief will actually make LESS $ than he did before, and with the three new hires, the overtime should diminsh to the point where its a non-issue.
Our Town Board gets it !
The losers that can't see their hand before their face - DON'T GET IT !! That's why they LOST!!! Just more SPIN~spin~spin !!! Giggle~ giggle

Is Ed Gilbert the only one who get's it? He's the only one who fully understood the deal on Fed-Ex. He is the only one who cared enoughto go back thru and see that Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops were NEVER fully interested in the Fed Ex property.
    THANK YOU ED !
Years ago, I was at a planning Board meeting and heard that those two businesses were being entertained as anchor stores for the Farms at Temple lane project. That was the only time I'd ever heard their names mentioned. Now this Bob Pasinella throws the names around and everybody from Taylors side screams?!?! Go Figure - Pasinella was either mistaken or misquoted. I've been around awhile and unless it was some other piece of property - neither of those two stores were EVER IN THE RUNNING FOR THE FED-EX PROPERTY! Once again - Thank You Ed Gilbert for remembering as well. I thought that I was wrong and had not heard correctly .....BUT I WASN'T WRONG ANN-(Kate) !

  11. "Cabelas and the Bass Company never came to us for any applications or approvals. The businesses were looking at being part of the Temple Lane Development. Their interests in the Albany International Property was essentially non-existent."

Pretty much sums it all up !! huh !!

Dear Ann -( Kate) stop with the foolishness and ridiculous baseless banter. Get with the program.
Your endless bad temper is really getting annoying.

And...btw : once again , your side has taken a true mis-quote and bad information and attempted to make an issue out of it. Your campaign was frought with bad information and instead of verifying any of it - you instead chose to villify innocent residents with your misinformation and clearly it didn't work! When will you learn ?
Can't wait for you to announce your intentions to run for Town Board - I will pour more of myself into anyone who runs against you than I did this past year. Your BAD for EastGreenbush and bad for the local economy.

So far - reading what's available...Ed Gilbert, Rick McCabe and Cristo have all stated that Cabelas nor Bass Pro were ever on the radar for the Fed-Ex property.
Taylor and her prozac posse' apparently can't get past this. One of the many reasons that I thank God every single day she never got elected !

  14. Someone over at the other blog finally realized that the CHS Wrestling blog didn't call for any political comments. It only took a full 12 hours for someone to catch on too....not the sharpest tools in the shed are they!

  15. Rosie ; they're so full of hatred over there. It would be best for any of the rest of the Towns voters who actually do realize that the current Board is making positive forward steps on behalf of the town and its residents, to completely ignore the others. They -( Taylor and Co.)can't seem to focus on anything positive without trying to spin it.
I believe that their lack of ability to see past anything except the fact that they LOST the election and they continue to throw mud - shows exactly why people are not attracted to their cause or their candidates. They are easily beat in any election by just asking voters to focus on their temper and lack of maturity.
Taylor and her now famous temper , are the glaring example of exactly what people detest in candidates for public office. She beats herself every time. Mr. thousand dollars words and million dollar phrases still doesn't get it - although he's been slightly better lately. DeJulio is non-existent as well is the remainder of the very few people who supported the losing effort. That fact alone says alot about what really was supposedly the backbone of the "reform party" .

  18. Adam Sichko's article entitled "Bass Pro, GE looked at Albany Int’l site" (http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/blog/2011/01/bass-pro-cabelas-ge-looked.html?) reports that a number of businesses looked at the Albany International site in East Greenbush (AI closed in 2007 and NAI Platform has been marketing the site for three years).

Most revealing; however, are the comments of NAI Platform broker Dan Slote, namely, “We contacted a lot of retail at the time, but retail was just dead. We had a lot of very good dealings in fall of 2008, but of course in 2009, it was just a really soft market. People thought the market would be better after 2009, but the economic downturn sustained.”

Albany International made the business decision to take the deal in hand. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." The bird is FedEX, the "bush" is East Greenbush.

A Town Board cannot force a retailer to consider a given site any more than it can prevent a business from selling a given property.

Yes, the Town Board adopted a Local Law creating the Fed Ex Ground Planned Development District - helping two businesses, Albany International and Fed Ex, as well as the Town of East Greenbush.

  21. DETROIT – A gunman opened fire inside a Detroit police precinct on Sunday, shooting at least three officers including a commander, a police official said.

Sgt. Todd Eby told the Detroit Free Press that he was sitting at his desk at the precinct when the gunman walked in around 4:20 p.m. with a pistol grip shotgun and opened fire. He said officers shot back at the gunman, killing him.

The conditions of the officers were not immediately known. Media reported that they were taken to Sinai Grace hospital in Detroit, but attempts to reach the hospital on Sunday were not immediately successful.

They're not safe even inside the station!! THANK YOU to ALL the East Greenbush POlice Officers for keeping us safe !

  29. Its coming soon! Ann will announce her candidacy - she is currently writing several of her own responses to pump herself for her next run at Town Board. Here we go again !!! Bring it on cookie girl !! This will be more fun than last year !

  30. I guess I can't for the life of me imagine running for a third time knowing I could FAIL yet again - putting all of your money into it without a guarantee that ya would win. Life has no guarantees!

But like everyone said "Bring it on." It'll be yet another challenge for her, if she's got the money to run, the sensitivity & thick skin for failure; then by all means she should run.

    C'mon Annie!

  32. Before everyone gets too cranked up about people running and losing elections and running again and losing again history will show numerous examples where perserverance was rewarded by voters.

Abraham Lincoln - considered by many to be our greatest president ran numerous times for political office and lost.

There are other examples from all eras, and all political parties.

History would suggest that change will come -even to East Greenbush. It is just a matter of when. All voters have a tolerance level for taxation and government mis-management. It has happened throughout history and it will happen again - including in East Greenbush. It is one of the wonders of our democratic form of government.

Gloating is no nicer a thing to do than whining.

The East Greenbush Democratic party is light years ahead of these so-called reformers. Those reformers couldn't organize a sit in at a hemmorhoid convention ! Prince Michael and his muse Ann, took their shot and they missed! Now , all they can do is complain - complain-complain. TOO BAD! No one is listening again Mike and Ann ! Your ridiculous over emphasis of none issues is really boring and nothing but toilet reading.
You made up stories , called the Town employees every name in the book, then crucify them for not supporting your election effort ! - HUH?? Are you delusional?! Obviously you both are. So - please take a long vacation, bring Bonnie, Dwight, McKinny , Eileen and any other fool who thinks you two are the salvation of East Greenbush.

No one will miss any of you . Well, maybe Don Johnson or Hal Betters - John Stephenson may miss you slightly. People in East Greenbush don't like either of you, and Mike : your NO POLITICIAN !

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yimmy....You folks are desperate to keep the reform initiative tied to two particular people. Unfortunately for you, it wasn't about blind loyalty to candidates, it was about working with candidates who were on the scene and willing to run. I have a feeling that as things continue to come to light, more and more citizens will present themselves as vehicles for reform. You are really on the wrong side of history here. You just can't have an operation designed to rip off the general public running forever. The problem for you folks is that the longer it goes on, the more serious the consequences when the resolution is achieved. I'm not worried in the least. You should be.

"Why can't we all just get along?" This has been going on for two years now, these blogs that do not prove a thing, except that people are immature; can't sit down and converse normally with each other. What do we teach our children at a very early age; be respectful of your elders - and just plain behave yourself. WEll, can't that be said for these BLOGGERS. Wake up and smell the coffee; there's got to be a way for all mankind in the Town of East Greenbush to form a Human Kindness Pole, instead of these mean remarks, lets start putting our names on them; and say something on a positive note to an opposing team member? Now wouldn't that be fun, get your blood pumping; pump it up! make ya feel good;make ya feel like dancing; warm and fuzzy - in a nice way. C'mon I'll give it a try.
Supervisor McCabe is doing his best at handling all of the issues on a daily basis and doing a damn good job at it.
DPW Commissioner Dave VanWormer is doing an excellent job. His men are happy, they're doing an awesome job keeping our streets clean; plenty of salt! THe comraderie is great and its a good feeling when they walk through that door in the morning.
Thats it; now someone from EG Blog sends a note either to us or on their blog being POSITIVE; whether it be for their people or for the Supervisor. Sound stupid? Its not wait and see.

You can even say something nice about YOUR Boss or His secretary - anybody; just make it CLEAN & POSITIVE. Thank You. I cannot sign my name or I would! So for now I'll be

  36. Patty: the current administration has NO PROBLEM at all .......except the constant barrage of B-S coming at them all the time regardless of whatever decision they make ! Every single move the Board makes is belittled and ridiculed by Taylor and her crew of cronies! Example is the post above from "anonymous @ 7:55pm". ! Classic example of exactly what they breed in this so -called "reform party".
Bottom line : reform initiative is a true contradiction - they are simply looking to push forward their beliefs and their hatred for anything Democrat . They firmly believe that the Democrats are still hiding something, and they cling to issues that are essentially " non-issuers".
When all of their bogus claims are refuted by anyone, regardless of who it is - they immediately blame McCabe or OBrien. Read the garbage posted on their wall and tell me I'm wrong! They keep calling writers to this blog - "mean and nasty". My response is this : LOOK IN THE MIRROR!

They are desparate to garner support and money to start up their next slander and mud-slinging campaign. They wil one again be led by AnnTaylor - twice terminated from banking jobs , yet none the less , these people cling to her like she's the next coming of christ! Talk about mis-directed initiatives and energy- Ann Taylor nor Mike Cristo will ever be a worth candidate for Town Board - yet they simply don't get it.
    - Jakes sister Patty is so very correct - McCabe and the Board are doing a wonderful job and the Town is progressing forward in a positive manner. Things are clearly looking up , unless your a Taylor supporter of course. Overall - the Town workforce is in a much better place - moral is leap years better than it was this time last year.
Cristo proved how completely he could dessimate a workforce morale and he did it in one week. He left the Town in the very incapable hands of Chris Defruscio , Tom Grant and for the most part those two employees alone - destroyed their respective departments in less than a month. You can't spin that any other way - PERIOD!
Taylor should run- she's a piece of cake to beat - she pretty much defeats herself and as of this writing...The Town Residents who support the current Democratic slate , are more than ready for this coming November - FACT! So Ann and co. - again - BRING IT ON!!

btw: this blog is less than four months old -

  37. Yo- anonymous 755pm - that's because the reform initiative is glaringly tied to the faces and mouth of Cristo and Taylor. She can't stop yapping for one moment and he thinks he's some thespian / Shakesperian scholar ! How bad are things over there? Your all fighting and yapping daily about the same thing - over and over and over.
None of you have learned a darn thing about how local government works, rather you all sit there and wait to pounce on anything the Town does that costs more than a penny. Pitiful life you all live. The 55% of enlightened voters are living a much more satisfied life simply by reading the papers and watching the National News broadcasts that tell the very same story - night after night- The entire NATION is in the midst of financial termoil, not just East Greenbush - the ENTIRE NATION!
You can try - but you really can't blame that FACT on McCabe or OBrien - can you?
