Win - Win!!!

Folks, EG CSEA recently ratified an MOU with the Town for 6% in raises over 3 years.  0% for 2011!!  Win - Win,??  Yes - Yes!

CSEA could've fought for the sweetheart deal HVCC Faculty just got - 11+% over 3 years (Happy Valentine's Day, love Mike C.), but showed concern, conscience and compassion for the Town and taxpayers!  McCabe held the line, despite confidence that things will get better in the Town over the next three years.

Other items in the MOU are one added personal day, no cap on compensatory time accruals and a 40 day increase in the sick leave bank cap.

These cap increases will help keep OT costs down - workers can bank more time rather than use it (or lose it) forcing OT coverage.  The Quarterly Sick Leave Incentive was changed, but details are sketchy.

Remember, these folks are out in all kinds of weather, plowing our streets, and keeping our sewer and water lines running.

Congrats and thanks to both CSEA and McCabe!!

  2. Apparently we didn't have to wait all that long ! Mr Cristo has taken it upon himself to politicize yet more actions that he knows absolutely NOTHING about at all, but once again , he interjects himself into a Town matter and attempts to pass himself off as someone who knows what he's talking about. Like anyone cares about what he says anyway - but here goes:

"How about passing over a long standing town resident who has been an active member of the fire department and a competent guy to appoint three new officers to the police department. I'm sure that the three officers are qualified, but at least one does not already live in Town. The individual who got passed over is of outstanding character, would have been a lateral move and has paid taxes in this Town for years. Surely he should have been at the top of the list... maybe he just has the wrong last name... again, I could be wrong."

    - Well - YUP - your so dead wrong and once again talking about something you have NO IDEA whatsoever about - and yes - btw: your wrong!

Here goes Mr. know it all again :

" As for the Deputy Chief position... another head scratcher that I opposed over a year ago. Not quite sure how adding another level of bureaucracy to an already bureaucratic ladened Town is any kind of solution, especially when you had to raise salaries to do it, both the Chief's and the Deputies, but hey, it's the golden rule right?"

Once again - talking like he's supposed to know anything about how a Police Department is structured or run in the 21st Century - NOT!! You wreck houses when you work - your not a cop - stick to what you know !

Once again , Mike has demonstrated just how truley ignorant he really is regarding anything to do with local Government.
His absolute hatred and detest for anything this Board does is so glaringly obvious - the residents of this Town were so very correct in denying him Town Council and were also correct in denying him the County Seat two years ago. - He won because people in North Greenbush and Poestenkill were ignorant of his foolish ways and voted him in with Fiacco and Desso - otherwise he was dead meat in that election as well.
Your so out of touch - Carolinas gotta be looking real good right about now - HUH?!?!?!
    - Everyone knows you hate the new Assistant Chief - you've made that perfectly clear - but what you've failed to do is explain exactly why you hate him so much ! Your a fool to go after someone with such an exemplary and distinguised record.
He's a model employee and has been for over 26 years. He has never brought disgrace or embarassment to the Town or his family . He has protected the residents of this Town without prejudice - something you can't claim! Your no match for him or any other employee of that Police Department. Their credibility is untouchable compared to a politician like yourself who is mediocre at best !
    - Do the people of East Greenbush a favor - stop trying to pass yourself off as someone who knows it all - you clearly don't !

  3. Hey hold on there Waiting... why do you have to go off like that and cast aspersions on a whole group. I think you're being unfair to politicians, by implying that a narcissistic little loser like the one that NG and Poest. put in the County Leg measures up to that standard.

  4. I do not know any of the new police officers , but I do know and have known the Assistant Chief for many years. Cristo has written several posts over the past year and in each post he slams either the Police Department or Mike Condo individually.
1021pm posted above is right on the money. Mike Condo is a lifelong resident and commited employee of this town for over 25 years. It is clear that Cristo is offended by such a dedicated employee and he apparently is threatened by such a good standing employee. I saw Mr. Condo in the grocery store a short while ago and although it had been a few months since I'd last seen him, he hadn't changed a bit. Mike Condo is one of the nicest people, one of the best employees of the Town, and clearly nothing of what Cristo would like poeple to believe. Mike Cristo is way out of his league on this one. I wish Mike Condo and the three new employees the very best over the remainder of their careeres. People like Cristo - the "nay sayers" in life , will always be around. Keep your chins up and do the Town proud !

  6. Timmy ! Yup I'm still here !January 29, 2011 10:46 AM

Today is January 29th. So far this year, 16 Police Officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty. In the past four days alone 11 Police Officers killed. Anyone who thinks that its okay to balance town and city budgets by reducing the number of Police on the streets needs to get their heads out of their 5th point of contact. Keep yapping away there Christo - your a complete moron and clearly someone who knows NOTHING about Police work. Keep wrecking buildings - stop trying to wreck the Town Police Department - they're way above you when it comes to personal integrity and character. I support our Police Department , the three new officers AND the Assistant Chief as well ! Christo Taylor and their band of disfunctional flunkies can all move to Russia - eh Comrade !?!

  7. Cristo is the poster child for : dirty politician who is so disengenuious and so radically to the " I'm with Ann" party that he can't distinguish fact from fiction any longer.

  8. How is it a win? 6 % over three years where in some intances some people haven't recieved a raise in two years. Plus being paid for not taking sick days and banking the sick days is absurd?? And the only person negotiating with the unions was Town Supervisor?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Arbitration would award more than that , plus the Town incurs fee's for going to arbitration. There's some things that the reform party and their faithful refuse to attempt to understand. This is one of them. People who negotiate contracts and have been around arbitration know this is a good deal and win for the Town! Cristo's assertion that he would have stalled for a year and then tried to start negotiation doesn't cut it. The union would have demanded arbitration and they would have got it! Cristo isn't a Union person, he has NO IDEA what he's talking about and its clear .

  10. What happened to "friends and neighbors?" The only Town that didn't tighten a belt is this one. Even the "sunset" but illegally restored sickleave incentive was reinstated. This last election was costly.
