Martin Reid is one of the "behind the scenes" power players that has muddied the waters in East Greenbush. Along with Rich Crist and Phil Danaher, the three of them quietly have manipulated and maneuvered Langley and Defruscio into several backroom deals. Langley is ignorant of his duties and responsibilities and Defruscio, well you all know already.

ReplyDeleteI don't believe Eastern Avenue is a county road ( https://www.dot.ny.gov/highway-data-services/lhi-county-roads ). However, I think they're are far more roads in worse condition that need more attention than Eastern.

DeleteI took a ride earlier and noticed a County Rte 60 sign at the entrance to Eastern Ave,, at Red Mill Rd. There is also the same thing at the entrance to Hampton Ave. at Columbia Tpk, so apparently Rensselear County Rte. 60 runs from Columbia Turnpike to Red Mill Rd, on Hampton Ave, Hudson Ave & Eastern Ave. I also noticed these roads are painted with double solid lines, as are the other county roads in town, so I guess these are county roads.

I really like the facts about the tree truck that Corellis bought. Pay $15,000 for a utility truck that shouldn't even be used for trees. Put about $5,000 more into it to get it ready, then pay $18,000 to have a tree service come in and cut trees, cuz the truck is too small!! That's right up there with buying the trailer for the transfer station and having to put several thousand more into it, cuz it doesn't fit. No there is a used trailer, which we already had, that has been shortened and doesn't hold nearly the capacity. Didn't he say he goes and looks at these things before buying them at auction? Well, he obviously didn't go look at this trailer cuz it was in Minnesota. Not only is he an idiot, he is a Liar.

The fact NO ONE questioned an Asian massage parlor coming to our town (Matt mentioned it would be a spa, not a nail salon at the January meeting so he can't claim they thought it was a nail salon) is absurd. Do you or they not read the news? Did you hear about the busts across the capital district and "luxurious Asian spas" being shut down, all just as sketchy as this one? Did they really not find it odd that a "spa" would want to go in one of the most run down buildings, next to Weathervane, in East Greenbush? NO ONE deserves a free pass on this one. ReplyDeleteI once had someone from the EG Building Department ring my doorbell and ask me to trim my bush which was less than three feet high. The reason given was that there was potentiaal for the bush to block the view of motorists passing by. I trimed it (path of least resistance). Keep in mind there had been no accident or even close call and that the Town regularly creates snow banks much larger than my 2ft by 3ft bush.

My bush deserved a site visit and a new business where people would be working and citizens might visit received no site visit? The "we read the application and it was good" arguement doesn't fly. A site visit should be required wherever a new business opens. Especially in a Town where innocent little ornamental bushes have been criminalized.
