Happy Thanksgiving !

Wishing  all a  peaceful and  relaxing  Thanksgiving .

Hope family  takes  precedence over all else and  everyone can take a moment to reflect on what we have  rather than what we  want.

  1. We can be thankful for the election results, and the signs of improvement in our home town, with the Fed Ex project now moving forward. We live in a town with good people, and a fine history of community involvement. So much positive grass roots effort has been laid out in the past year that typify the good things about living here. Just a few include the Business Alliance programs of flower planting and cleanup, and their upcoming open house at Becker's Farm; the charity and support extended to the Witko family through several well organized events; The Halloween Haunted House that prompted long lines and overflow parking; the local participation in Patriot Hills support of our military personnel returning from active service.

Other neighbor helping neighbor events are already planned starting tomorrow a benefit for Jen Signer and her family; then the Wojeski Christmas giving reception; and virtually every meeting notice or Holiday Party announcement includes a call for donations to local food pantries or gift items for those in need. I have confidence that these too will
all be well supported and successful, because as I said, that kind of success typifies the involvement and community spirit of our residents.

  2. I am extremely thankful that the Town is progressing forward despite ALL the distractions. I have nothing but hope that this Board will move forward and past ALL the negativity of the past few months. Best of luck to ALL the board members.

  3. In the true meaning of this holiday season, it was so great to go and share in the Jen Signer Fdn. fundraiser tonight down in Rensselaer. I did not know Jenn personally, but, I did know that she graduated from Columbia Highschool, had a horrible motorcycle accident back in the spring, was not expected to live, overcame that and is alive and well confined to a wheelchair, hoping for the day to walk again and return to her Phys Ed job at Taconic Hills HS. Just the fact that she is one of our own from the town, was all the reason I needed to attend and donate to this most needed cause. The support of family, friends and community was just overwhelming.

I couldn't help but notice many familiar faces down there such as the McCabes, Hallorans, O'Briens, Mangolds, Harts, Malones, EG town public works employees, and many more residents from the Town of East Greenbush. It just so reinforced my belief in that I supported the right people to lead this town; people who genuinely for yers and years continue to give for needed causes from the goodness of their hearts even in these tough economic times. And, that my friends, goes a long way and says a lot about the character of each and every one of them. I'm proud to know each and every one of these people and to see that they took the time out of a very busy holiday weekend, to attend this fundraiser. Good people giving of themselves for good reasons always. Go Jen!!!

  4. So I noticed over on Cristo blog that they posted something about an audit the comptroller did regarding the rescue squad contract going back to 2008. And of course all the tea baggers are blaming Rick McCabe. Are they really that stupid and ignorant?!?! Don't they know that anything that happened before 2010 was under the watch of a town board that included Cristo, Danaher, and Matters. Really!!! Are they that blinded by their hatred?!?

  5. 10:15pm - YES - they clearly are ! They refuse to acknowledge their own transgressions and constantly continue to sling all the mud they can grip in their radical reform party extremist hands. Too bad they can't seem to focus on anything else - limited minds ! I refuse to read the other blog - too much B-S coming out of their side. Sore losers

  7. Timmy - no not that one either !!!November 30, 2010 7:24 AM

Honestly Ed- do YOU read the crap coming out from "over there" ? We all know you swing more towards them so I can understand why you can't see the constant barage of cat calling and B-S from them as anything but "constructive " while people who support this blog see it simply as baiting and total B-S. They - ( over there) even acknowledge that they are baiting a response from the Dems ! Did you not read that ?
As far as your "way to be" - your clearly not being objective - but then again - no one expects you to be either. Again, blog over there if you can't/won't try to be objective and can't see the opposite viewpoint. Those who blog over there are clearly like adolescents who can't stop the whining and crying.

  8. Timmy, it is all about context not the message. The article they posted under was about Thanksgiving and extending best wishes to all during the season. Their post had nothing to do with the article and just started another barrage of finger pointing and insults. I have no problem with those that find fault with the other blog. There is much there that I would not allow on my blog because it is either mean spirited or just off topic. ( the comment about big boy pants is a prime example) This of course begs the question, where should the post have been submitted? I think under the Business 101 article would have been much more appropriate.
