Election Day 2103

EG Talks extends its congratulations to Deb DiMartino and Mary Ann Matters on yesterday's victory.

The campaigning is over and governing is a less than two months away.

We wish you well for the good of the Town.  Your success will mean success for the Town.

Mike Bottillo and Cheryl Vallee waged a hard campaign and we hope we've not heard the last from either of them.

  1. This post is pure class. I agree with every part of it, especially hoping we haven't heard the last of Mike Bottillo and Cheryl Vallee. They both ran good clean campaigns and showed they have a lot to contribute. The supervisor has two years to govern with a majority and this will allow voters to judge if he has what it takes to be an effective leader. In the meantime, the democrats need to get organized because two years from now we will have possibly the most important election in this town's recent history.

  2. Jack is right on point. If the new majority can actually deliver a reform in government, they will have been successful. If they can't, the next election will be a watershed.

  3. Whether you voted row A or B , its worthwhile to wait a bit and let them get their feet wet and see exactly how this plays out.
We all know most campaign promises are never fulfilled, but lets see if the Supervisor has any real ideas that he can make work for the betterment of all Town Residents. I didn't support the winners , but I will give them the benefit of a few months to ease into their new positions.

  4. While I did not vote for the newly elected people, I am certainly respecting the fact that they did win, and I am looking forward to seeing all of the positive changes they promised. The election is over - respect the office and those going in. If they can deliver, who knows - they may gain new followers all over town.

  8. Does Ray Mooney even reside in East Greenbush ?
He's got an awful lot of opinion for someone who does not live in Town.

  9. There is a post over on the "fly" that I sorta agree with. The author suggests that in the next few months, the new Board is going to make some decisions regarding hiring and terminating. If they do something you don't agree with - ASK THE SUPERVISOR FOR HIS REASONING !
He should be able to give a mature, adult explanation. Don't ask Defruscio - you'll only walk away pissed off and eternally angry.
The organizational meeting ought to be quite the circus. There will be many~many patronage appointments and nepotism and cronyism will most likely reign supreme.
    Let the circus begin !
*** The voters elected Matters and Dimartino - NOT Defruscio and that should be the fuel for the fire in January !

I hate to admit it.....but as Don said: when this administration fails , the next election will be a watershed".
I predict a monsoon ! Especially if these new board members don't distance themselves from Ercole.

  11. Typhoon will look like a summer rain compared to the natural disaster being whipped up by the Republican Chairman. When the sh*t hits the fan....I will be the one standing at 9&20 / Route 4 screaming:

    I TOLD YOU SO !!!!!

  12. Supposedly Matters and Dimartino have no plans of letting Defruscio have any say in the upcoming appointments.
The residents did not elect Defruscio to anything. They elected Dimartino and Matters in spite of Defruscio and his criminality.
When the list hits for the Organizational meeting...we'll soon see if they have the chutzpa to just say NO to Ercole !

  13. This is actually refreshing !
"Smart Way Forward" is already falling on its face because Defruscio wants nothing to do with it ! He wants what he wants and that is NOT going to cut it with the newly elected Board members.
This ought to be quite the circus on January 2nd ! Bring a camera !
Can you say - " I told you so ?" lmao

  14. 8:07 AM. I hope you are right. DeFruscio had a meeting yesterday at Town Hall with Supervisor Langley and Councilperson Rick Matters. Let's see what happens.

  15. Langley is a gutless wonder.. The simple fact that he spends so much time with Defruscio tells any of us exactly what we already know - he's incompetent.
Nice guy - has no business being the Supervisor and it will show on January 2nd for all to see !.

  16. Why are people always saying Langley is a nice guy. We have never gotten an honest days work from him, he hangs with a thug, and blocks attempts at open government. What is to like?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I have talked with him a couple of times. I find him very pleasent to speak with. I don't necessarily think he knows anything about his job. I agree that his time spent with Defruscio greatly detracts from his authority and that it actually makes him look helpless and a follower.
We'll all see right thru his smoke screen at the organizational meeting. That will be our first glimpse of whether or not the man has the ability to lead or simply follow Defruscio down the path of dishonest destruction of our town.

  18. Its a coming folks ! The direct and intentional destruction of East Greenbush . Courtesy of E. Christopher Defruscio .
Watch and see what you elected ! Maryann and Deb are about to be put in their place by Defruscio and Langley.

  19. Keep your hats held tight - tonight will be the very first glimpse of Defruscio influenced decisions.
    Watch the fireworks !

  20. I TOLD YOU SO !!! LANGLEY = TAX INCREASE.

Deb and Maryann are nothing but pawns in the Langley/Defruscio show !

  21. HYPOCRITE; calling someone out for making the public aware of indiscretions of Langley and Rick Matters - yet have the unmitigated gaul to slander another board member because it fits your worthless political view point.
I hope Eileen Grant is successful and its too bad the State let Matters off with a warning.....especially after he wasted taxpayer dollars attempting to defend his worthless position.

Matters vs. Estes is a case that the residents should be aware of.
Bonnie needs to stop her worthless campaigning.

Langley did exactly what many of us knew he was going to do - raise taxes. The 2014 budget is HIS BUDGET and it includes his tax increase, which he defended last night !

  22. I hope no one really takes Bonnie seriously. Can you say little yellow bus

    2. Gilbert is a non-entity and no one really pays any attention to him anyway.

  24. As to be expected - Don and Dwight are giving Langley a pass on his "non-budget" controversy - aka TAX HIKE.
    Go figure.
Change is going to cost us all and its going to be painful.

Like others here have said, January 2nd will be a real circus for sure.

  25. I don't trust LangleyNovember 22, 2013 9:06 AM

Langley should take a lesson from JFK about grace, competence and dignity in politics.
Having Defuscio near him all the time is not very comforting to the public - especially those of us who know exactly who Chris Defuscio is.
Poise under pressure is the true hallmark of a competent politician.
Running to a known criminal for advice is not very comforting and shows how utterly immature our supervisor actually is.

  26. The best republican I ever knew was a man named Ronald Reagan, a true leader, respected politician and a gentleman. A man who valued our military and veterans, a man after my own heart, a man who led me to register as a republican, been that way for 30 years, up until recently, the one party I truly believed in, the one party I thought to be true Americans, the one party I thought would live the virtue of President Reagan, the one party who let me down.

  27. Smart Way Backwards !November 23, 2013 8:30 PM

You want to be let down ? Wait until all these "smart way forward"voters realize it was nothing but a sham . Wait until the fall out of Defruscios continual interference becomes so obvious that there's no way Don and Dwight can deny it.
Republican party in EGB is so utterly in total discourse that the corruption will be spotlighted and the lawsuits will fly.

  28. I Like Langley - NOT !!!November 25, 2013 2:27 PM

    Defruscio is an absolute imbecile.
Gadflies think the Town is headed down the correct path,
They think change is coming! HAH!
It is , just nothing what your expecting.
Wake up ! You screwed up and now we'll all pay !

  29. A lie doesn't become truth -a wrong doesn't become right & evil doesn't become good just because its accepted by a majority. Basically - Defruscio was and still is a thief, crook, thug and idiot.
The residents elected Dimartino and Matters - NOT DEFRUSCIO.
Langley would be wise to acknowledge this fact openly because many , many people are talking about how much time he spends with the criminal Defruscio ! Keith needs to focus on keeping his promises to the Taxpayer - not to Ercole !

  30. Just let this Gadfly set the record straight. I'm waiting to see performance. If we get the same old Dem shenanigans only with an "R" brand on them, you can bet that I will be just as critical. Don't be too quick in your judgement. Don't forget that the Reps think they won on their own steam. They have still refused to recognize that the context for the fall of the Dem regime was created by the reform movement in East Greenbush.
