There will be a Board of Ethics Meeting on Thursday, October 16th at 7pm at Town Hall.

  1. Oh good. We can watch Eddie Gilbert continue to make a fool of himself. No thanks.

  2. Does Elroy even know how to formally conduct a meeting ?

  3. Who's bringing the popcorn?

  4. He doesn't know how to formally conduct his own life, much less a board meeting. He's a Langley plant for the purpose of spying on the board. That's all.

  5. Will there be any public comments tonight?

  6. Gilbert is a fool. He has ruined his reputation and should probably leave EG. His name is forever sullied and there is no reclaiming his reputation.

  7. Why didn't Langley announce his appointment of Sean Mulvey to CFAC at the Town Board meeting? All of the other Town Board members were proud to publicly announce their appointments when they made them.

    1. Because he's not proud of it. He knows he did it out of spite. Then on board night he was kissing up to Maura Ryan like a true crooked politician looking for re-election. Don't buy it, Maura. It's not sincere.

  8. Has there been any agenda published anywhere for tonight's Ethics Board meeting?

  9. Get ready to hurl, folks. Below is a message from non other than our infamous Deputy Supervisor and Chairman of the Ethics Board, ED GILBERT. He's writing and responding to himself on his own blog! It's definitely an election year next year cuz he's trying to save his scrawny, lying neck. You're not going to believe this. Read on...

    We’re Starting Over

    October 16, 2014

This was received earlier today as a comment to our latest post.
After a long discussion with a few people whose opinions I respect and value I was forced to admit to them and myself that my statement to the citing Board was incorrect and yes at times mean spirited. In my speech I said  “ I would like to point out that this familiar group of activists has a long history of challenging development projects, from Fed Ex to Home Depot”. I should have said that “these types of  activist “  obviously there are very few people (if any) that are challenging the casino that challenged the Chip Fab plant or Fed Ex also I couldn’t name any opposition to Home Depot. Additionally I was assured by them that the grass roots effort is strictly local and they have no “ new found friends from around the state” If anyone else had stated this to me I would listen but still retain a healthy amount of skepticism. It is only because of my history in knowing these people and the level of their integrity I believe this now to be true.
I know many of you are upset with me for varying reasons and I am willing to listen to your criticisms and respond to them as best I can. I apologize to all of you who I unfairly characterized in my speech. It was not something I’m proud of and I will endeavor to improve. My sincerest apologies to all.
Note to the editors of this blog. While this blog is simply exercising its first amendment rights it is now being attributed to myself and others. This is not the face we want for the public. Much good has been accomplished by this administration and we would prefer to concentrate in the positive then wallow in the mud with the likes of the other blogs in the community. I am asking that you help us in this regard by taking down the old and starting anew with a positive message. My hope is that if you are really on our side you will accept this request.
    Ed Gilbert

Guess Ed just can't help himself when it comes to trashing other people and other people's blogs. What a miserable excuse for a human being he is. Resign, Ed. Nobody wants you around. Nobody!

Ed, your Penance is to convince your cronies to tell Feathers and Company to go away and never bother this community again.

  12. The only reason he took down the blog is because it's "now being attributed to myself and others." He doesn't care a fig about what that blog has done to others. He only cares about how it's reflecting on HIM, Langley and DeFruscio! He created the blog to destroy one of their own (MAM) but they never expected it to boomerang around and clobber them instead. It may be down, Lang/Gil/DeF, but it won't be forgotten. You attacked one of your own and you will pay dearly for it in the next 15 months. Count on it! NO LANGLEY 2015!

  13. 10/16, 7:07: If we can get Langley to allow Geore Phillips and CFAC to find a starting point, schedule future audits, and work with Mangold and the TB to understand the past, who cares about his sincerity. We need Langley to cooperate with (or maybe just tolerate) the fiscal rebirth of our town. Let's reward him with praise whenever he does the right thing and get through the next 12 before we go to the polls and punish him for his insincerity.

    1. 8:36 I said that because he's in campaign mode but that could change in a heartbeat if he decides not to run again. Word out is that he won't run again if we're not awarded the casino license. His performance on the 15th with Maura Ryan was just that, quite the performance, but don't trust that he meant what he said. Proceed with caution.

    2. 836 - key phrase : WHEN - he does the right thing. So far, that has not happened - ever ! Langley clearly is not a manager/supervisor in any sense of the word. He needs to be shown the door before he can do more damage and plunder the Town into further financial peril.

      Delete
    3. I am saying 12 months is a long time and I would much rather see him acquiescing to Maura Ryan's fiscal plan than siting with Ed Gilbert calling names and and creating crude little avatars.

    4. Supervisor Langley, Do yourself and the Town a favor and resign. EG will do just fine without you and Deputy Supervisor Gilbert in the corner office.

      Delete
    5. 836 - I agree. Even if he's in campaign mode, we have to take what we can get. Good point.

    6. 3:44 p.m. If the Supervisor resigned, the Deputy Supervisor would BE in the corner office. Be careful what you ask for.

    7. his reign as Dep would end when KL resigned

    8. Sorry 8:33 you are incorrect. If the Supervisor resigned, the Deputy Supervisor would become Acting Town Supervisor (perish the thought!) unless the town board voted in an interim replacement for Langley or until another Supervisor was elected on Election Day 2015.

  14. Ed was not at all contrite at the EB Meeting. His new found conscience and public pledge to himself will probably last about a week. The childlike banter on his blog goes along with a childlike lack of self control.

  15. I was taken aback by a recent disturbing conversation with Supervisor Langley in the parking lot of town hall near his truck. The Supervisor said some words about the DPW. When asked to explain what he meant, he said "that's not what I said" and then refused to say anything else, climbed into his truck and drove off. Is he rude like that to everybody?

    1. 1:43 p.m. He's rude like that when he gets backed into a corner. He's a very angry man who has virtually no patience with anyone who questions or opposes him. He's famous for saying 'I'm not going to get into a big discussion,"' meaning I'm the decider, accept what I said or get away from me. Considering he's the Supervisor of the town, public servant paid from tax dollars, he closed his ears to ALL opposing views about the casino in the most disturbing and obnoxious way possible and set the stage for the rest of the board members to do the same, but he was all ears for the project developers, people who are NOT residents of the town. I say we residents do the same when he knocks on our doors at campaign time. He is not fit to govern or to lead.
      NO LANGLEY 2015!

    2. Putz won't knock on your door; he knows how hated he really is; he can't even look people in the eye; he's a social misfit, runs in his family. Believe me, I know. Once january 1st comes around, he'll be running throughout the hall "are you gonna vote for me? What can I do to get your vote!" What a moron; didn't accomplish a damn thing during his time. I say everyone takes up a collection to buy him some new clothes, i.e. suit jacket and a couple of new POLO shirts; same old, same old. just like his personality.

  16. 3:57 PM, We probably won't have the opportunity. To quote Keith Langley- "I won't go door to door like a fuller brush salesman."

    NO LANGLEY 2015!

  17. Forgive the rude , bluntness of this , but I call b~s on Gilberrys letter to himself on his slanderous sh*t blog !

Gilbert created that blog on the direct orders of Chris Defruscio, as evidenced and confirmed by several SWF morons.

I know I am harsh but I'm pissed and infuriated at the total disregard for the citizenry of EG by Langley and his mutts.

NO LANGLEY in 2015 - live it , breathe it and vote it !

  18. I won't go door to door like a fuller brush salesman? What makes Keith Langley think he's exempt from campaigning? Does he think he's not a politician? Should we just hand him our vote like the ignorant fools he thinks we are? Does he think he's so loved in this town that he shouldn't have to campaign? Beyond a doubt, the Keith Langley administration IS the bizzaro world. NO LANGLEY 2015

The word around town is that the audits (plural) cannot be completed because there is, literally, no bookkeeping for the last couple of years of the McCabe administration and the first year of the Langley administration.

Does everyone fully grasp what exactly that means? Seriously, this is the equivalent of a fiscal complete meltdown. It really and truly is exactly that - no exaggeration.

Why not assign re-constructing the town's books to the CFAC? Why not do the same thing with a team of volunteers from the town's citizens?

There has to be bank records, checking accounts, deposits, etc., etc.

Better yet...why doesn't Supervisor Langley contact the OSC and absolutely insist on a full, complete forensic audit?

This is no joke and not a political comment."

OK, so basically you are blaming this on the last few years of the McCabe administration. Is that a fact or conjecture ? Jim Breig , the darling of the republican party would be the man who was in charge of Town finances during the period of time you reference. Is that what your saying ?
PLease elaborate if you can, on exactly how you derived these statements...many of us would like to know....

    1. This is one of the reasons I would object to what is apparently the recommendation of the CFAC to forgo certified audits for 2010 - 2013 or 2014. As I think Sue Mangold suggested, we need to make as sure as possible that public funds are being and have been spent properly. That's difficult to do without the use of an objective third party and accepted professional standards. It's not just the question of Fund Balances. Given the Town's history with financial internal controls, an outside CPA's eyes are essential.

I have heard that Mr. Langley doesn't want the written criticism which would be present in the "Independent Auditor's Report" of certified financials, but it's not his "comfort" which is at issue. It's the confidence of the public which is at issue. The strategy which I think was put forth on Wednesday night is not comforting.

    2. CP Mangold has been pushing to have Toski and Wojeski meet with the Town Board at a Pre-Board Meeting for some time now.

As I recall from the 10/9/14 Pre-Board Meeting, Supervisor Langley directed Comptroller Phillips to set up a meeting with Toski, Wojeski and a consultant the Town hired to address the audits and see what could now be done to salvage the effort. When a date was selected, the Supervisor would schedule a Special TB Meeting.

Then, on 10/15/14, CFAC recommended against "a reconciliation of or completion of previously attempted external audits."

Will the Special Meeting with Toski, Wojeski and the Town's consultant happen or be scuttled?

  23. With MAM OUT of their control, Chumplee and Putz are desperate to find Debbi-like candidates who will roll over and do whatever they're told to do. In case you haven't noticed, Debbi doesn't have a clue, and that's just the way they like it! Once they find one more Debbi-mint-twin , the Putz can take back the board and his control, but who, in their right mind, would want to get mixed up with THEM! Buyer beware when Chumplee comes a knockin. ALSO, and this is BIG, know that anyone who runs will have to completely FUND h/er own campaign. Chumplee's committee is not only broke, I heard they're in BIG debt like thousands of dollars. So, if he says there's money for your campaign, he's bold faced LYING, which is what he does best.
    NO LANGLEY 2015!

  29. to Pete Stenson @8:09 and others interested in fiscal transparency: I believe it is of critical importance for the 2 accounting firms and the consultant to walk us through what work they did for us, what they delivered and what prevents them from delivering a completed audit. It would serve to help us avoid the problems of the past and provide us with their work product. Citizens could judge for ourselves the value an quality of that work.
Those presentations are already paid for, and would cause no extra work for the town staff. I further suggest that this presentation be held at a time convenient to the public, not 4 PM on a workday.
This presentation should be a part of establishing the new starting point for the books.
It is also critical that we get future audits nailed down remembering that we have not had any fiscal reports in 2014.
Perhaps we need a local law requiring independent audits.
