Not that anyone asked , but here's my view on the repooblican candidates:

Keith Langley - a virtual no name - no history of doing anything on behalf of the Town at all - ever.

Ed Gilbert; bonafide Cristo-Crony. Again - hasn't done a thing for the Town- no history of doing anything except what Cristo dictates.

Dan Fiacco : the real : head scratcher . Nice guy - decent family man - no idea why he's running...doesn't need the crap thats sure to accompany a Republican candidate. Too Bad - nice guy.

Corinne Sheldon - virtual unknown - no shot at unseating Toni Murphy

Linda Kennedy - permanent fixture as Town Clerk - no need to run anyone against her- she's competent and gifted at her position.

So - basically - Hello Democrats come November !!!

ps - this entire commentary is a direct slap at Ray Mooney who anonymously posted a very slanted version of the above over on the bullshit blog.

Here's the latest from doomsday predictor - Don Johnson:

"The Supervisor and stipend recipients are not out of the woods yet. The OSC has yet to do an audit related to the stipends and other payments made without the required Board resolutions. Note the link below.

    http://www.osc.state.ny.us/press/releases/jul11/070711c.htm "

OK - the articel he references has NOTHING to do with the EGB Stipends, and isn't even closely the same set of circumstances....but old Donnie thinks he has "one-upped" the Dems again- he's still ;looking for his " Ah-hah" moment !!! Keep looking Donnie.....your dead wrong again...the OSC isn't any further interested and neither is the FBI there little miss giggle~giggle~boom~boom! You reform morons have NOTHING and it shows!!! There's no audit coming Don !!

  8. Timmy- the #1 Don Johnson fan !!! lol :0)July 09, 2011 9:20 PM

Oh Jon Dohnson-(hic) - you forgot the following:

"Don't forget, the stipends are gone because things were getting heated up around here. The Troy Record, radio, and the OSC had a lot to do with the stipends being stopped. The first Finance Committee saved the town thousands of dollars by finding them. Thanks Ann.

Our supervisor took his liberty with the taxpayers money. Not good in my book. It's time for a new supervisor to be the CFO of our town."

These reform idiots are drunk on the kool-aide again...they think they had something to do with stopping the stipends- hey morons = CRISTO was a HUGE part of the stipend vote- he has no plausible deniability in any of this....he's JUST A RESPONSIBLE!! Get over your self whacko's

  9. Lets make something perfectly clear. In the "real " business world, stipends are an everyday way of life. They are an accepted form of not paying large sums of overtime to employees and regardless of whether or not Don Johnson agrees - they were actually started in this Town by the Republican party years ago. People who support the reform party have taxpayers thinking "stipend" is a dirty word - not so at all in the real world of business.
Don Johnson should concentrate more on figuring out how he's going to pay the Town back the thousands he owes in legal fees from his failed lawsuit that he lost , appealed, lost again, appealed and lost again ! Costing EGB residents wasted time, energy and tax dollars to defend his baseless lawsuit. Thank God the Town won and hypocritical simpleminded people like Johnson lost in the "court of common sense" !!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. To Timmy.....hic, hic, hurray!!

First off, before you say anything about Don Johnson's law suit, you should take a look at court record on public file. Then you would know that Don Johnson does not owe the Town "thousands." In fact, no costs or fees were awarded at the Appellate Division. As to who should "figure out" how to pay what he owes, well, that's a matter for attorneys - of which there seems to be a serious absence in Town Hall.

(Be surprised if this gets posted on the dog and pony blog.)

  13. Timmy !!!! Yup - I'm still here !July 12, 2011 9:47 AM

    Dear 7:02pm - " A Friend" :

The following are directly from the decision so ordered by the honorable Mary O. Donohue - acting Supreme Court Justice, dated March 24th, 2008 specifically with regards to the absolutely baseless lawsuit filed by our very own Don Johnson-

" Plaintiffs-(Johnson) complaint is noteworthy for its baselessness. Plaitiffs fundamental error is their incorrect assumption that General Municipal Law ~51 authorizes taxpayers to commence litigation for the purpose of ensuring that other citizens do not derive greater benefits from their proximity to public property. Next, instead of providing FACST to support their conclusions and ASSUMPTIONS, plaintiffs take their OWN UNSUPPORTED CONCLUSIONS and ASSUMPTIONS and use them as the foundation for adding new UNSUPPORTED CONCLUSIONS and ASSUMPTIONS! WOW!! Sound familiar?!?!?!

Also: Plaintiffs elaborate on their BASELESS charges by affirming that the "gift" is "fraudlulent and consitutes both a waste of taxpayer money and public property."
"Plaintiffs next IGNORE that there has been no conveyance and charge that East Greenbush violatiod Town Law ~64 when it conveyed the parcel without adopting a resolution"
    - therefore - Plaintiffs complaints must be DISMISSED BECAUSE PLAINTIFFS LACK GENERAL STANDING!!! " As noted previously, there are NO allegations of ultimate facts that support plaintiffs-(Johnson) conclusions of illegality, fraud, gift, waste, etc and plaintiffs factual allegations and the documentary evidence actually CONTRADICT plaintiffs legal conclusions and factual claims!"

That- ladies and gentlemen- is just one example of the worthless BS that DON JOHNSON has put you all- the taxpayers of East Greenbush Thru the past election and he's trying to start again for this upcoming election.
The man has/had NO STANDING and clearly owes the Town legal expenses as noted by Supreme Court Magistrate Donohue: " that the public money that East Greenbush has expended in responding to plaintiffs BASELESS LITIGATION IS CHARGEABLE TO THE PLAINTIFFS"-( Johnson)!

Well Donnie Boy - call my bluff anytime you want !!!!

  14. Dear Timmy…. The Record shows that in our suit, we attempted to stop the “gift” of about 5000 square feet of public parkland to a private person for private use, including construction on public land. The Town chose to oppose our effort. We failed on standing issues. Bottom line is, however, that we do not owe the Town “thousands of dollars.” Had it followed the process outlined in Town law, the Town could be collecting payment in lieu of taxes for the use of the property.

I have been, and will continue to be, concerned about how public money and property is dispensed by the current administration. It has shown precious little regard for competent stewardship of the public purse. That is evident in the stipend issue, payment to a “consultant” without Board approval (and then paying that “consultant” as a “pensionable” employee), non-existent “water contracts,” non-existent scrap contracts – and the list goes on.

Quite frankly, by pursuing these and other issues, we, and others like us, have succeeded in saving the Town hundreds of thousands of dollars just in the last couple of years – just by publicizing the practices we have discovered so far.

  15. "saving the Town hundreds of thousands of dollars"????

    ROFLMBO!!!!

  16. Yes, "Talks," hundreds of thousands of dollars. And the pension padding and pensioning everything that moves has not even been addressed yet.

  17. GEORGE - ABC-FEG-ST2 - PROUDLY !!July 12, 2011 2:54 PM

WRONG DON - NOT HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! YOUR EXAGGERATING AGAIN! YOUR A PROVEN LIAR OR AT THE VERY LEAST ,THE WORLDS GREATEST EMBELLISHER ! YOUR CONTINUAL DIATRIBE ABOUT INTERNAL CONTROLS AND STIPENDS SHOWS YOUR LIMITED ABILITIES AND UNDERSTANDING. YOU CAN HIDE BEHIND WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY , BUT PEOPLE IN EAST GREENBUSH DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT STIPENDS OR THE LACK THEREOF ! THEY SEE THE ECONOMY AS PART OF THE MUCH BIGGER PICTURE OF THE NATIONAL ECONOMY. I THINK YOU SHOULD DRY-UP FOR A BIT AND GIVE ED GILBERY AND FIACCO A CHANCE TO SPEAK. MAYBE THEY DON'T AGREE WITH YOU EITHER !
AND - OSC ISN'T COMING EITHER - I'M WILLING TO BET THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT EGB AND YOUR PENSION PADDING. AND THE FBI AIN'T COMING EITHER THERE ANNIE - NICE TRY THOUGH. THEY SENT YOU PACKING AS WELL - HUH!?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Try this Georgie..... The average stipend disbursement for '08 and '09 was $46,250. Project that unchecked for 10 years and you have a disbursement of $462,500. Add the extra pension credits not approved by the Board and you have a cool HALF a MILLION. That's hundreds of thousands Georgie.... And we haven't even begun to talk about the rest of the mischief. And it certainly doesn't include what the Pension Bureau might just decide to not pay.

Why are we paying salary, fringe benefits and pension credits to a partner in a local law firm? Who are we "taking care of" here? Municipalities usually retain counsel on a retainer basis, without the cost of fringes, pension credits and other perks. Can you articulate a sound business argument, with financial benefits to the Town, for the current arrangement? Would we have to hire someone on OT to cover any slack?

  19. Waiting........July 12, 2011 4:34 PM

My my my !!! Wow! Interesting commentary. I , for one am delighted that someone actually backed their story with fact -( thanks timmy) !

I and others have been vilified by the likes of Don Johnson and a few others from over on the bullsh*t blog , who took great liberties with some of their writings.
I read a few days ago something Johnson posted and he attempted to justify it with some news blurb about something in a town nowhere near EG. When I cut and pasted the link, I read, read again and only then did I realize that the web address had nothing whatsoever to do with anything he was preaching about. I simply laughed it off, but now it makes perfect sense!
Its great to come home from work and read that someone finally told the truth about this Don Johnson character- and obviously he doesn't like it !
Some of your own medicine doesn't exactly taste so good- huh Don?!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think the point of that link was that even after leaving office, the Supervisor's activities were referred to the DA for activities in office.

  21. Gee, why stop at 10 years? Why not project 20, 30 or 40 years????

If one gets vacinated for measles, did they stop an epidemic?

Did Asst. Town Attorney McCoy write that
"Although stipends are not illegal or criminal, they are "frowned" upon and discouraged"? YES!

Did Comptroller Breig contact OSC on 9 Sept 2010 requesting a written opinion regarding stipends? YES!

Did OSC's response fail to specifically address the issue raised by Comptroller Breig and include a number of previous OSC opinions that were not directly on point? YES!

Did OSC unleash a swat team of auditors to invade Town Hall in search of wrongdoing? NO!

Did the UHY Audit call for a "forensic" audit? NO!

    Are stipends a NONISSUE? YES!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, this is actually easy ! Don has once again embellished on fact to attempt to prove his point. He clearly uses "averages" not actual figures,(which then prematurely inflates the final figure) and throws around the 10 year mark -( like it has some significance ), and conveinently forgets to mention in his latest diatribe that the practice of stipends , regardless of board approval or not, was clearly started by a REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED MAJORITY , and that simply because he HATES McCabe and OBrien, he cannot simply state facts - well Don has once again inflated reality to suit his personal agenda.

No one is buying your BS Don ! BTW: what other "mischief" are you about to fabricate to fit your continual line of lies and mis-information? Can't wait for this!?!
I can hardly breathe with anticipation. Pension Bureau is once again - NOT INTERESTED because the stipends were NOT ILLEGAL !!! You can't get your brain wrapped around that simple fact.... you'll sleep better knowing that no one at the State level or higher, nor the NYSP or FBI are intersted in yours or Taylors fabricated facts and figures.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Pension Bureau doesn't know Don Johnson nor anyone else in EG. They have much bigger fish to fry.
and for 7:25am - your absolutely correct- stipends are clearly a non-issue.

  24. You have to give Chris DeFruscio credit. Even he knew enough to reject Ann Taylor as a candidate for the board. Rumor has it that Chris and his advisors know that Ann and her group of toxic bloggers were a guaranteed route to failure. Ann only knows how to attack others. Ann....where are all of the businesses you were bringing to 9&20?? Where's one?? You had a year. Nice job Ann - you earned your salary. Nothing for nothing! Keep picking on the present Board and Town Supervisor - it only shows how jealous and petty you are. You can continue to condemn, but realize, your jealousy and innate nastiness is all that shows through.

I'll say a prayer for you girlfriend!

  25. I've been reading the Cristo/Taylor blog. Taylor and her friends seem to think that if they attack Rick McCabe over and over with ridiculous, untrue accusations, they can get him to reconsider running for Town Supervisor.

As someone who has known Rick for a very long time, you couldn't be more wrong. Rick is a well respected and trusted man who will fight to the bitter end against those that would try to bully him or anyone else. Rick has been very successful running for office because most people recognize his dedication and service to the town. You can't please everyone and I doubt anyone can please ANN TAYLOR. She always finds a way to find fault or spin any situation.

Rick, you have my support and the support of a vast majority of the town residents and it will show in November.

  26. Charlie,

Consider the source of the attacks on McCabe.

Rick, Charlie said it best "you have my support and the support of a vast majority of the town residents and it will show in November."
