Congratulations to Jack, Tina and Tom!

Citizens may swear allegiance to one party or the other and believe with all their might that they are right, but once an election is passed, and until the next election, they should be one people. - Abraham Lincoln

Sincere congratulations to Jack, Tina and Tom!

You ran a clean, issued-based, well organized campaign and we appreciate and applaud your efforts!

If you can manage the Town half as well as you did your campaign, East Greenbush will be 1st!

    1. Jack, Tina, and Tom are good people.

Toni would've been with Dave and me but left before we decided it was time to pay a visit. I spoke with her this afternoon and she was truly sorry she left and wasn't able to come with us.

  2. The EG1st candidates conducted themselves in a professional manner, focused on the glaring need for change in EG, and earned their win. I absolutely believe that they will do a great job working on the many problems in EG. But these problems took years--even decades--to be created, so it would be wise to give them the time to get things fixed. It won't happen overnight and that shouldn't be any reason to lose confidence in the new regime. Give them a chance to get things straightened out.

I look forward to great things for my hometown, even if I don't live there any more. Best of luck to all of East Greenbush. I sincerely hope that the sense of community pride that once existed is someday restored. It can happen.

    Thank you!

  6. Interesting how it seems all sides have already accepted the election results and are moving on supporitng the new team. That is very encouraging that most people just want our town moving forward and will work together. Yet it didn't take long for the nasty fool who writes the EG Gadfly blog to already try to create friction and division while the rest of us want to unite. The gadfly is still bashing Langley, talking about victory laps, and preaching about teachable moments as if he won this election. He won nothing because he was not in it. The EG1st candidates won, not the gadfly hatemonger. I hope the EG1st crew does a great job and I think they will. Part of that should be dissociating from the gadfly hatemonger because let's face it: we all know that it is only a matter of time until the gadfly turns on EG1st because something doesn't go his way or because EG1st needs to make a compromise that he doesn't like. Wait and see. Other than him the rest of our town is coming together nicely.

    2. Bravo 10:43. People give the Gadfly more power than he actually has. If you don't like what he says don't read his blog.

I realize I'm a day or two late but I wanted to thank Dave, Pete and Andrea for not slinging mud when it would have been so easy too.

Chris Defruscio did exactly what was expected of him and we all knew it was coming. To Jack , Tina, and Tom ; I wish you well !

  8. Thanks Pete for a classy post. Congratulations to Dave, Pete, Andrea and Bridget for running a clean, issues-based campaign. Congratulations to Toni on her re-election! Dave and I shook hands when the campaign started and we shook hands Tuesday night because we made an agreement to wage clean campaigns and we both lived up to our word. We are going to try to bring the Town together and we'll need all the help we can get. We made a promise not to bring politics into Town Hall and we intend to live up to it.

One last thing: on Tuesday night I learned that one of our supporters did in fact campaign outside of a church after services. I was disappointed to hear it and I apologize to Talks readers who I assured that no such thing had happened. I also apologize to anyone who was offended by the campaigning itself.

  9. My pleasure, Jack. Civility and politics can coexist and even thrive.

Don't hesitate to call if you need anything to help you help our Town.

  10. There's a couple of hidden treasures in these election results,

first and foremost - we get rid of Dave Gruenberg ! What a complete waste of tax dollars he was ! Empty suit is about the best description for him!

Bye~bye Chris Defruscio as Court Attendent as well ! Waste of time and tax dollars.
