How about starting with cleaning up what we have before you start new projects.
ReplyDeleteLike cleaning up the lake and the East Greenbush town park swimming.
How about we all start attempting to get together to identify and prioritize a list of projects , nit just those mentioned above either. Recreational amenities are great - but the entire population would have a much different list of items that need addressing.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just expect that we should start first with what we have and then build on that.
ReplyDeleteAppears to me that things being let go in the parks and I just feel as a person that watches my money. Why not the Town watch theirs and start wtih something very simple.
All I know that the town park is being used for the majority of the time is for the dogs..
ReplyDeletethat about sums that all up..
I would love to go to this workshop, but unfortunately, I cannot make that time and date. I'm not sure if you're going to be checking here for ideas from EG residents, but my "wish" would be a bike path like the ones in Albany (Corning Preserve Bike Trail) and Niskayuna (Mohawk River Bike Trail). I read the study conducted about the trail that would go through EG, Schodack and Nassau and I think that is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Supervisor's Report Through 8/23/11:
ReplyDelete"We are in the process of developing a new grant application for studying the Town Park Lake and installing a new handicapped accessible bathroom.
We will be getting grant monies in for the improvements at Hampton Manor Lake. The grant will also help up our MS4 (stormwater) program. Many thanks to Matt Mastin and Hank LaBarba for their continued efforts."

How about a town pool and playground? In a more centralized location than the town park? There are many families in this town who have no pool or playground locally for them to enjoy in the summer. I know when my grandchildren come to visit it would be wonderful to be able to take them to a playground or pool for a few hours. One town I lived in even had certain hours a few evenings a week for "adults only" swim time.
