A new day dawns for East Greenbush and ushers in a new majority. Rather than look back on the past let's look to the new future.
We wish Jack Conway, Tom Grant and Tina Tierney the best of luck as they take office and in the pursuit of the goals for East Greenbush, as their success will be the Town's success.
We also the best of luck and success to Kim Carlock, Toni Murphy and Kevin Engel. May their terms be uneventful.
Best wishes and luck also, to Deb DiMartino and Mary Anne Matters who have reached the midpoint of their terms. Hopefully the second half will be less contentious.
Thanks to Linda Kennedy for her many years of service to our Town and residents. Enjoy your well deserved retirement.

ReplyDeleteIts hard to believe that the Langley Administration - or lack thereof - allowed such juvenile delinquents and obnoxious morons into the lives of EG residents and taxpayers. I've lived here for a long time and have watched voters make mistakes before - ( Phil Gause ) , but Langley will forever go down as the very worst EG has ever suffered thru.
Langley had no "vision" of his own but took direction primarily from DeF. DeF's strategic abilities are in short supply so the whole operation fell apart. I'd bet that the thing driving him nuts the most is not being able to stand up there behind the Judge any longer. I can't figure Gilbert though. He used to be able to utter sentences that made sense and had a rational basis. Those days appear to be gone.

ReplyDeleteSurely this is illegal . Why is this tolerated ? The "crew" at Stewarts in the morning assures me that this has been going on for at least the past three years. WOW ! And it was also mentioned that he just doesn't show up to work when he's out plowing his private snowplow gig. That should be investigated and at the least, he should be severely reprimanded. Why isn't the GADFLY all over this ? This is basically the same is Stipends. Stealing and/or obtaining a benefit you don not deserve is the same animal.
There are certain people in this Town that will always be able to get away with shit and never have anything said to them; have to suffer consequences, be told anything and I'm sure being the Chief of Police, they just slide it under the rug and say its OK. How many times did he retire; and come back - and it was all OK. He can do it. Its not only him; with any luck and hope, this new Regime will omit these losers from doing stuff like that. Getting degrees on company time, even sitting there having 30 to 40 minute coffee breaks, daily; this may be stupid sounding; but it is our tax payers dollars at work; or should I say NOT AT WORK. Who oversees their time sheets.

I will fight any tax hike that attempts to levy me and my neighbors who are on wells and septic , to pay for this debt that we are not able to enjoy.

From what I remember, he used to sit on the school board. He was tossed because he was viewed as a radical. He disappeared and fell off the face of the earth for a few years. The reason we have two labor unions without a contract is that no one can ever agree. Your talking men who make anywhere from 50 to 100,000. The police officers get their socks and underwear paid for; sounds stupid - it is stupid - grown men making that kind of money and cannot afford socks and underwear. DPW men deserve a contract as do the police - at a reasonable increase of pay. Two days were taken away from them; Well Big deal; who in the private sector gets their b'day off. Good Friday, I couldn't understand; but the cutting has to start somewhere. In all actuality, your still getting your salary. So grow up boys and girls and face the real world. Its not all roses out there; its time someone tells you that your going to work for your money; the days of sitting there with half hour breaks and getting a degree while working for the company (which doesn't pertain to your job) are OVER. Sounds like your little children who need to grow up and face facts and be honest to your employer; you are so blessed to have a job today with the unemployment rate the way it is; we're in a depression.
