East Greenbush Town Board Joins September 11 Remembrance
Ten years ago this Sunday, on September 11, 2001, America was attacked. Each and every one of us remembers where we were when we first heard of the attacks. We remember the shock, confusion and fear that we felt at that very moment. This all pales in comparison to what the passengers aboard the planes and the workers in the buildings felt.
- Two planes were flown into New York City's World Trade Center, killing 2,753 people, including 343 firefighters, 60 police officers and 8 private emergency medical technicians and paramedics.
- A third plane was flown into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia where 184 people perished.
- A fourth plane, believed to be targeting either the Capitol Building or the White House, crash
The east greenbush town board, As a memorial and tribute to those who perished so needlessly at the hands of cowards, asks that all businesses and residents of east greenbush PROUDLY DISPLAY 'OLD GLORY' ON SEPTEMBER 9, 10 AND 11.
The east greenbush town BOARD ALSO asks that we REMEMBER THOSE WHO WORKED TIRELESSLY IN THE RESCUE AND SADLY, the RECOVERY EFFORTS FOLLOWING THE ATTACKS.
show the victims and survivors of that tragic day, as well as their families, that they are not and will not be forgotten.
